South Dakota Attorney General Marty Jackley advises that a divided United States Supreme Court has issued an opinion in Missouri v. McNeely concluding that in drunk-driving investigations the natural dissipation of alcohol in the bloodstream does not constitute an exigency in every case sufficient to justify conducting a blood test without a warrant.

I Agree With Senator Reid About the Gun Ban

I agree with Democrat Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, who recently said, “I’ll vote for the ban because saving the lives of police officers, young and old, and innocent civilians, young and old, is more important than preventing imagined tyranny.” I agree that it would be crazy to miss an opportunity to save lives on the excuse of an imagined threat. But here in the real world, there are two problems with Reid’s statement.
