Rep. Kristi Noem (R-SD) today announced that the Government Accountability Office (GAO) has agreed to conduct a study into the new school lunch standards being implemented for the first time this year. “From concerns with calorie-maximums to frustrations with flexibility, increased food waste and costs, this study will help provide some needed answers. As a mother, I understand the importance of ensuring our children receive healthy meals, but students, parents and schools deserve a school lunch program that works for them, and that’s what I’ll continue to fight for.”

Democrat Senators and President Obama have been spending a lot of time worrying about the so-called fiscal cliff, and you would think that they would be gushing with new ideas or even identified budget areas that could be cut. But no, with the exception of Sen. Dick Durbin’s meek, entitlement discussion where he urged saving money but not changing anything about the program, little has been heard from Democrats beyond the standard demand that taxes be increased.

In June, when the U.S. Supreme Court came out with its ruling regarding the health care law, everyone sat on the edge of their seats in anticipation. And for a good reason; this law impacts every American. his is one of the biggest environmental cases to come before the Supreme Court in years. One that Sen. Ron Wyden (D-Ore.) said has the capacity to “shut down forestry on private, state, and tribal lands.”

Legal actions against Obamacare are clearly still considered viable as the U.S. Supreme Court ordered the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals to hear Liberty University’s suit against provisions of the law under First Amendment grounds. Does this give hope that other lawsuits based upon other aspects of the law might find support from the Supremes?

The electoral fraud evidence is accumulating to the point where I must conclude that the November election was stolen by the Democrats. In the months leading up to the election, report after report surfaced highlighting significant erosion of support for President Obama. Electoral fraud can occur at any stage in the process, but there are three main types.

Nothing you write, say, text, tweet or share via phone or computer is private anymore. This is the reality of the internet-dependent, plugged-in life of most Americans today. Do we allow the government liberal powers to control and spy on all electronic communications flowing through the United States? Can we trust the government not to abuse its privileges and respect our privacy rights? Does it even matter, given that we have no real say in the matter?

Cliff Kincaid’s latest column at RenewAmerica says a number of important observations that have been bouncing around in my head the last couple of weeks. The evidence is clear that-yet again-an exposed RINO cannot fool the Republican base into supporting him. It is also clear that Mitt Romney’s loss, and the historic losses for marriage in some states, were not unrelated events.

In the wake of President Obama’s decisive reelection, the GOP is engaged in some serious soul-searching. Pundits on the Right and Left are cautioning Republicans that their party is facing extinction unless some major changes are made. They maintain it’s evolve or die for the GOP. The question is, how much can an institution change without losing its identity? If “change” for the Republican Party means ceasing to stand for the conservative principles that have defined it since the time of Abraham Lincoln, is that what Republicans want? Is that what America needs?

The Left is nauseatingly slavish. But, do you really think anyone at the apex of the vaunted GOP Power Pyramid really fathoms, understands, or cares about what we are up against? I have concluded that they do not. They may be truly nice folks, but that is irrelevant. They are not living in the same world I live in. How about yours?
