I see that Brad Ford at The Right Side has added some context to a recent controversial piece he wrote. The article in question made the following observation: “Gay sex will prosper, racial blending will see a surge, women will be prominent in the consumer-driven workforce…” Sounds like he disapproves of “racial blending,” doesn’t it? Is that what he meant?

Will Voters Back A Party That Doesn’t Believe Its Own Values?
Richard Viguerie’s latest article asks the question that every conservative, every Republican, needs to ask themselves and ask everyone, if they have any aspirations whatsoever of not just advancing Republican values (let us acknowledge right that there are some Republicans who don’t give a flying rip about this-they just want power), but even winning elections in the future: Can A Party With No Ideology Win?

It seems that after a partial recount of some votes in Florida where there were several “irregularities” reported, Rep. Allen West (R-FL) has been declared the loser in his re-election bid. The article also states that there was a 141% voter turnout, which should set off alarm bells by itself. Of course, when such a thing adversely affects a conservative, it’s nothing to worry about, move along, move along.

The ultimate leverage in the game of chicken now being played in the upcoming fiscal cliff is who will get blamed politically if everyone’s taxes go up at year’s end. Because, unless House Republicans can come to some sort of an arrangement with the White House before Dec. 31, that is exactly what is going to happen. Obama is betting Republicans will get blamed for this outcome, and declare it proof positive that the GOP only cares about the top 1 percent.

Preliminary analysis of exit polls of people who voted suggest that many lower income white voters chose to stay at home rather than vote for the lesser of two evils. By this analysis, this drop in white participation rather than a massive increase in ethnic participation is likely what caused Romney to lose. These dropped out voters would not have liked Obama, but didn’t trust Romney either.

We are Americans. We are resourceful. When doors are slammed in our faces, we find another way. Since five lawless judges on the U.S. supreme Court betrayed us by failing to declare the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act unconstitutional; since we may be stuck with Obama for four more years; and since a Democrat-controlled U.S. Senate will not repeal Obamacare, we must find another way. There is another way. Here it is, and it comes from Thomas Jefferson, author of the Declaration of Independence.

Iowa’s Rep. Steve King got into trouble before the election when he suggested the government is too quick to spend money after a disaster. King was one of only 11 members of Congress who voted against a $51.8 billion relief package in 2005. Many people support public funding of disaster relief partly because they fear being described as unfeeling and selfish. Is there a moral obligation to support this public funding?

High winds and treacherous tides along North America’s coast prevented the Pilgrims from sailing further south to join Virginia’s earlier settlement. Unexpectedly finding themselves with no government authorities to submit to, they created their own government - the Mayflower Compact. It was the first ‘constitution’ written in America.
