As I read my daily devotional at Men of Integrity this morning, I was reminded of the choice before us on Election Day today. The Bible passage today was from Numbers 13-14. The devotional discussed how the people of Israel had been promised a land of prosperity, after having been miraculously put on that path by an all-powerful God. All they had to do was continue following God and go in and take ownership of the land.

The mystery surrounding the 9/11 terror attack on the U.S. consulate in Benghazi continues to deepen. One of the more recent revelations in the ever unfolding story about the attack involves the suspicious departure of General Carter Ham, commander of AFRICOM. Allegations have been made that as the general was mobilizing a rapid response force to come to the aid of the besieged consulate, he was told to stand down.

As the nation heads to the polls today, many of us will need to make sure we take our ID with us. Voter identification helps keep down election fraud. Who among us doesn’t have an ID for the many things we need identification for (writing a check, using a credit card, flying on a plane, etc.)? Voter ID helps ensure dead people aren’t voting, others aren’t voting twice, people aren’t voting for an invalid who probably wouldn’t make it to the polls anyway, etc.

As we face the battle for the soul and future of our nation today, doing so with inadequate forces against a relentless and multitudinous army (the liberal-controlled federal government, academia, the Leftist media, et al) I was reminded yesterday of a dramatic statement made in the face of dismaying opposition. Remember the second Lord of the Rings movie, The Two Towers?

I realize I am preaching to the choir here on the sites that carry this column, and I do not have to tell you how crucial it is that we get this anti-American, junior tyrant out of our White House on this Election Day. But, it remains that there are many people in our nation who do not perceive the real nature of liberalism, who support its horrendous goals of wealth “redistribution,” all-powerful, monstrous government and the silencing of those who speak against liberalism’s tyranny.
