Hey Liberals, School is In: Cronyism Isn’t Capitalism

tyrantsSchools is in session, and Andrew Klavan provides a lesson badly need by RINOs, Democrats and other liberals.

Cronyism isn’t capitalism.

It can sometimes be mistaken for capitalism, because it does involve money and the free market.

However, unlike capitalism where the free market punishes stupidity and incentivizes both fair business practices and wise decisions, cronyism is when the government unwisely (and often unconstitutionally) meddles in the free market to force businesses to do things that are unwise, make decisions they wouldn’t otherwise  make, take risks they wouldn’t otherwise take…and slide some of that pretty green cash toward them and their cronies.

In fact, free market figures can quickly become addicted to cronyism–like a junkie to crack–and seek opportunities for sliding some of that cash around to government officials–and getting some taxpayer-funded largess from them in return–for everyone’s (every crony, that is) mutual benefit.

Meanwhile, the consumers get taken for a ride, the taxpayers get taken to the cleaners, and the Constitution (along  with wisdom and common sense) gets taken to the shredder.

Sadly, this insanity and corruption isn’t confined to just one political party.

Many RINOs, er, “Republicans” claim to believe in the U.S. Constitution and the free market…while using the power of government to meddle in the free market and make sure that they and their cronies benefit financially–even if the liberty of the people they are supposed to serve is subverted in the process.

Many Democrats rail about the evils of the free market and the capitalist system…while using the power of government to meddle in the free market and make sure that they and their cronies benefit financially–even if the liberty of the people they are supposed to serve is subverted in the process.

We need to issue walking papers to every one of these scumbags who put their cronies before the people, regardless of what letter they have after their name. We have a chance to do that with some of them next Tuesday; others will have to wait until the next election cycle.

But we can do it, if we only have the will.

Good stuff, as always, from Mr. Klavan. But, I busted out laughing at his intro, “crone capitalism”! Hilarious!
