Arizona Governor Jan Brewer spoke this morning at the Values Voter Summit.

As Brewer took the stage, someone up front waved a yellow Gadsden flag, a symbol widely embraced by the Tea Party movement.

Since becoming governor, Brewer has signed into law over 50 pro-life bills. In addition to a strong pro-life record, she has championed religious liberty and protecting the people of Arizona from the hazards of illegal immigration. Her leadership has also moved the state to reject ObamaCare exchanges–something a few states have slavishly rushed to embrace.

She said that the saying goes that when your neighbor loses his job, it’s a recession, and when you lose your job, it’s a depression. But, she said, a recovery will be when President Obama loses his job.

Brewer criticized the lack of action on the part of our federal government regarding border security.  The dereliction of duty by our federal government and president has led to the deaths of several Americans along the southern border.

“Failure is the hallmark of the Obama Administration,” said Brewer.  They have failed to protect our citizens, failed to uphold the rule of law, and failed to secure our border.

Brewer said that while President Obama likes to compare himself to Ronald Reagan, there is a very important difference between them. One wants to spread the wealth, while the other lived to spread freedom.
