The Untold Story of Islam

Islam: The Untold StoryThis is a very interesting documentary, especially if you’re a history enthusiast as I am (I read the first four of Will Durant’s “Story of Civilization” series in high school because I wanted to). Even if you aren’t a history enthusiast, anyone interested in geopolitics and the clash of civilizations between Islam and the West should find this compelling.

Historian Tom Holland wanted to trace the origins of Islam back to its earliest sources and learn all he could about how this powerful religion came to be. Like any good historian would, he sought original documents, original artifacts, and visited original locations in his quest.

This film, produced for Britain’s Channel 4 in 2012, documents Holland’s quest.  Interestingly, there is an astonishing dearth of solid evidence about Islam’s origins, and about where a number of its key tenets came from. Holland’s examination of the origins of Islam may just open up more questions than it answers, but the journey is a compelling one.

The film is about 71 minute long, so grab a Coke and sit down for a very interesting presentation.

Thanks for posting this, Bob. The Islam panderers at Youtube took it down.

    • Good grief! This doesn’t even get into the really bad aspects of Islam.
