Remember when we used to teach our children to dream big? We told them that if they worked hard and disciplined themselves, they could be a doctor, an engineer, an astronaut, even president of the United States. What are we teaching them today? No, I’m not talking about our empty talk and hypocritical lies we’re telling them; I’m talking about what we’re teaching them, with our behavior and actions.

A Human Events article by John Hayward voices an interesting prediction for the 2012 presidential race: Mitt Romney is poised to win-and win big, electorally. The part that could throw this prediction-even with it’s perfect 8-election track record-is the admission that the model doesn’t account for sudden changes in the economy or other unforeseeable factors in states that are split 50/50 right now.

Today’s Congressional Budget Office report warning of a deep recession should Congress and the president not agree on a solution to the massive tax increases that will go into effect on Jan. 1, 2013, is true to the extent that the tax increases will kill private sector growth and exacerbate the recession that we are rapidly descending into.

In the 1850s droves of gold-hunters hoping to make it rich rushed into what would later be established as the Golden State. The pristine beaches, vast mountains and plenty of opportunity persuaded some to stay in the state. But now, California is facing a different kind of rush—one that is causing people to pick up and leave.

South Dakota Secretary of State Jason Gant published the 2012 Ballot Questions pamphlet online today at sdsos.gov, allowing readers to browse the digital booklet in much the same way they would use a printed copy. The pamphlet details the Attorney General explanations and the pro and con statements associated with each proposed constitutional amendment, referred law and initiated measure that will appear on the 2012 General Election ballot in South Dakota.

Obama himself is the waste, fraud, and abuse in the Medicare debate. He is wasting the American people’s time with fraudulent political claims, and abusing seniors through a campaign of fear. Obama’s approach has been to pretend to reform Medicare while creating a Soviet-style rationing board to do his dirty work. Medicare as we know it will be dead before the next decade runs out, unless action is taken now.

Being one of the most famous of my circle of family and friends for saying things in my “Carrie-Style”, I don’t find Todd Akin’s statement as outrageous as Fluke apparently wants people to feel it was. The Democrats and their playmates need to get a grip on reality and get off this ignorant and flawed “PC” merry-go-round that serves no purpose but to repeat the failed over and over and over again.
