President Obama is absolutely right when he says that Americans need to so some soul-searching in the wake of the slaughter in Wisconsin over the weekend: “President Obama said mass shootings like the one in Wisconsin over the weekend are becoming far too commonplace and should prompt some “soul searching” by all Americans.”

The South Dakota Attorney General’s Office has completed its investigation and review into the alleged mistreatment of Vernon Traversie at Rapid City Regional Hospital. According to the investigations, the scars on Mr. Traversie are a side effect of the surgery performed on him.

In a time when too many Americans are surrendering without a fight to anti-Christian zealots who want to erase any trace of our Christian heritage from public view, Mayor Leo Fontaine of Woonsocket, Rhode Island is engaging. Atheists have been trying for some time to remove any public expression of the religious faith that forms the foundation of our nation, and now have their sites set on a World War I and World War II memorial in Woonsocket.

The campaign of intimidation waged by homofascists against Chick-fil-A gained a lot of attention last week, and rightly so. It’s about time the silent majority took a public stand against these Leftists whose dark agenda has nothing whatsoever to do with “tolerance.” But in Denver, homofascists are at it again, and this incident hasn’t received much attention.

We have long known (well,those with eyes to see and ears to hear have, anyway) that Mitt Romney’s “RomneyCare” socialist health care scheme in Massachusetts was turning out like socialist schemes always do: torpeoding quality and delivering precisely the opposite results as promised. We’ve know for a long time that RomneyCare is increasing health care costs, wait times for care, and diminishing access to health care. Now things are getting so bad that Mass. officials are getting ready to take socialism to the next level and become more dictatorial with health care.

Liberals learned a hard lesson on Wednesday. While the generally silent majority was showing exuberant support for free speech, the institution of true marriage and Chick-fil-A, “progressives” were gorging themselves on crow sandwiches doused in bitter hate. While Chick-fil-A was eating at liberals, millions of God-fearing Americans were eating at Chick-fil-A. It was glorious.

America’s decline began when our “public servants” placed reward over service and voters chased the rainbow’s fabled pot of gold. Our instilled tradition of a unified American purpose has been fractured. We have all taken flights in differing directions, dependent upon our individual fancies. The bevy of interests which have attracted the public’s attentions are too numerous to list, yet they all contain the common thread of dissimilation. No matter what the interest be, its detraction from the American cloth of unity, purpose and strength is abundantly clear. And so are the results!

The problem isn’t that we don’t know the answers. Instead it’s that we don’t want to face up to the fact that the free ride has to stop if we’re going to get off before we land in Athens. America’s economy is beginning to resemble one of those increasingly ridiculous action movies where the hero gets blown up, shot, stabbed, and hit with a brick only to jump up ready to roll. It’s time our leaders learn we have learned that blowing up a bubble to take the place of the last burst bubble is not building an economy.

I hate election years. I suspect that many of you feel the same way. In fact I’m sure that half of you don’t like one candidate and the rest don’t like the other candidate. Many of you probably don’t like either of the choices. During elections the political dialogue assumes that the well-being of your future is out of your control and in the hands of politicians. This is simply not true. You have the freedom to take control of your finances and your life.
