Eviscerating the Constitution

Eviscerating the Constitution

Some conservatives have desperately tried to find a silver lining in Chief Justice John Roberts’ evisceration of the United States Constitution. Those who cheer the supposed blow to the liberals’ ability to pervert the Commerce Clause are like a death row inmate who is very happy about the steak he had for his last meal.

The Spirit of Coolidge on Independence Day

Calvin Coolidge’s life and governance were a living testament to the words he spoke with such simplicity and eloquence. While he epitomized frugality, hard work, common sense and independence, sometimes even his followers today miss the humanity in his speeches and writings. He also famously noted that it is more important to kill bad bills than to pass good ones. Yes, you read that correctly! Such blasphemy would be an impeachable offense today, but Calvin Coolidge drew his faith not from legislation but from God and the virtues of America’s most humble, hardest-working citizens.

Who Will Protect Us from Chief Justice Roberts’ Choice?

Who Will Protect Us from Chief Justice Roberts’ Choice?

In the tradition of Marbury v. Madison, it is not up to the Court to answer political questions with which the elected branches of government have discretion. Except of course when Congress has no authority to make such choices in the first place because they directly violate the Constitution. And so, who will protect the people from the consequences of Roberts’ choice?

And the Beat Goes On! Part II

And the Beat Goes On! Part II

The one-two punch delivered by Chief Justice John Roberts this week left no questions as to his conservativeness being only a mask. To designate Roberts as a RINO belittles his just due. For here was a patient and, up till this week, an undistinguished prince jewel that laid in wait for his opportune moment. The price for his disclosure had to be worth his public undressing and with its final presentation, it was justified!

Members of the Hyphenated-Americans Caucus walking out on the Holder contempt vote

The Holder Walk-Out

I suppose we are expected to be impressed by the walk-out by the Congressional Black Caucus and Nancy Pelosi in protest to the Eric Holder contempt vote. Surprise!… many of us are anything but impressed by this childish behavior on the part of these so-called representatives of the people. Apparently, by their actions, they tell us they are only representatives of select groups and self — not the people — all the people — they are sworn to represent.

Article 1 Section 8 from Page 2 of the U.S. Constitution

The ‘Taxing Clause’, Five Lawless Judges, and ObamaCare

We must disabuse ourselves of the monstrous lie that the federal government created by the Constitution is the exclusive and final judge of the extent of the powers delegated to it; and that the opinion of five judges, not the Constitution, is the sole measure of its powers. In effect, last week the Supreme Court majority repealed Clauses 3-16 of Article 1 Section 8 of the U.S. Constitution. In a nutshell, the Lawless Five asserted that Congress and the President may do whatever they want to us. Just call it a “tax”.

George Washington presiding the Philadelphia Convention

Our Twentieth Century Decline

Just how in the world has America’s future come to rest upon nine opinions? Certainly, something went askew from Our Forefather’s original designs? As this Constitutional travesty bears out, the future is now in the hands of not nine jurists, it’s now whittled down to a majority of five. This is not as it should be. Is it any wonder as to why these professional whores are all up in arms against the recent charges emanating from our Tea Party movement? All of a sudden, demanding accountability is now radical.

An engraving of James A. Garfield's assassination, published in Frank Leslie's Illustrated Newspaper.

Does the Next Century Find Us a Great Nation?

One bullet grazed his elbow, but a second lodged in the back of President James Garfield, who, on JULY 2, 1881, was shot as he waited in a Washington, D.C., train station by Charles Guiteau, a member of a polygamist-type communist cult. Garfield had only been in office four months. Though not wounded seriously, unsterile medical practices caused him to die two months later. A distinguished Civil War major general, James Garfield had been a college president and a preacher for the Disciples of Christ.
