Liberty and happiness have a powerful enemy on each hand; on the one hand tyranny, on the other licentiousness [anarchy]. To guard against the latter, it is necessary to give the proper powers to government; and to guard against the former, it is necessary that those powers should be properly distributed. — James Wilson, Founder and signer of the Declaration and Constitution

A Lesbian’s Eyes Opened: ‘You Don’t Hate Us!’

September 28, 2014   ·   0 Comments

homosexual_HIV_AIDS

“Projections have shown that if current trends continue, half of all gay and bisexual men will be HIV-positive by age 50.” – The Wall Street Journal, Sept. 25, 2014

This jaw-dropping revelation is based on the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s latest assessment of the homosexual lifestyle. The WSJ report further warns: “Gay and bisexual men represent an estimated 2 percent of the U.S. population but more than half of all people living with HIV and 66 percent of new HIV infections. They are the only population group in the United States for which HIV infections are rising.”

What do you say of an adult or adults who, for selfish political reasons, encourage sexually confused children to adopt a sex-centric identity and lifestyle laced with a 50-50 chance of HIV infection? I’d say they’re guilty of child abuse. Adults are supposed to protect children from touching the red-hot stove, not push their face down on it.

This is true hate.

Scripture admonishes, “The wages of sin is death” (Romans 6:23). Unnatural behaviors beget natural consequences. It is hateful to promote a sin-centered lifestyle to children, to anyone for that matter, which leads to disease, death and, unless repented of, eternal separation from God.

It bears repeating: “[H]alf of all gay and bisexual men will be HIV-positive by age 50.”

The wages of sin is death.

Yet in today’s upside-down world it is we who are disingenuously accused of “hate” – those of us who remain compassionate and bold enough to warn our fellow fallen human beings of the spiritual, emotional and, yes, even the physical death that comes as a natural consequence of unnatural behaviors. A toxic cloud of political correctness distorts reality, choking off any honest appraisal of these self-destructive sexual behaviors. We truly live in a dark age that calls evil good and good evil.

Homosexual conduct is always sin. It always has been. It always will be. It is never good, healthy, normal or natural.

The wages of sin is death.

I’m honored to say that I’m one of those “haters” called by God to sound the alarm. While folks do send me positive and encouraging notes on a regular basis, I likewise receive a steady stream of hate mail – chiefly when I write (or speak) on the issues of marriage, God’s moral law and His natural order for human sexuality.

While the positive correspondence is always heartening, it is, believe it or not, the nasty stuff – the uglier the better – that especially lifts my spirits. Christ’s promises are true: “Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake” (Matthew 5:11).

When God calls you to be an instrument of His truth, the biblical harmonies you play will often strike sour with those in rebellion against Him, sending them into blind rage and deep denial. This is a spiritual battle old as time itself. It is between good and evil. It is sublimely humbling to be used of God in this way. All we, all you, as faithful Christians can do is to speak truth in love and pray that those truths plant a seed that bears fruit in the hardened hearts of lost souls.

I have seen this happen many times.

One example occurred in October of 2009. I was keynoting a fundraiser for the pro-family group “Americans for Truth About Homosexuality” (AFTAH) in suburban Chicago.

Outside the event, and watched closely by police, was a mob of angry “LGBT” protesters. A young woman who claimed to be with the press was present at the banquet. It was quickly discovered that she was actually with the mob outside and had somehow managed to sneak in. Rather than kick her out, Peter LaBarbera, founder of Americans for Truth, asked her to stay and join us for the banquet. He requested only that she put away her video camera, which she did.

This young woman, who identified as a lesbian, sat at a table with some of the most loving and godly women I know. They showed her the love of Christ. Among them was Sandy Rios, my dear friend, Fox News contributor and AFR talk radio host.

After I gave my remarks, this young lady – we’ll call her Marie to protect her from being hanged for high treason by the “equality” crowd – rushed over to me with tears in her eyes. “They lied!” she exclaimed of the protest organizers outside. “You don’t hate us. You don’t hate me. You really do care. And you’re funny!” she added of some of the humor I typically, though not always successfully, weave into my writing and speaking.

“I’ll admit it,” she continued. “What you said was hard to hear. But they lied to me. You don’t hate anyone.”

A number of us then prayed for this priceless daughter of God the Father. She stayed around and visited with us until well after the event ended. Sandy Rios and I then walked her out, where we were greeted with scowls and profanity-laden taunts by the activists outside.

“What are you doing with them!” demanded one of the protesters of our new friend. To even my surprise, she ignored them, reached over and gave me a big hug.

She saw that we loved her. She saw that Christ, in us, loved her. He died for our sins, her sins, and for the sins of each of her fellow protesters.

We learned that her friends, her ride home, had abandoned her and, as I recall, Sandy drove her home that night, continuing to minister to her along the way and for some time thereafter.

Yes, they lied. We don’t hate you.

This is the true face of the vast majority of so-called “anti-gay” Christians. This story is but a microcosm for the larger movement.

It is truth.

And it is love.

But sadly, truth is hate to those who hate truth.

To you homosexual activists, I say this: We will not be daunted. We will not be intimidated. We will never quit.

We do this in obedience to the Holy Spirit.

Like He did before us, we are going to love you.

But, as did He, we are also going to tell you the truth.

And we’re going to do it whether you like it or not.

Comparisons to Israel

September 28, 2014   ·   0 Comments

IsraelThe Palestinian Arabs of Gaza produce lethal missiles; dig tunnels to bring murderous terrorists into Israeli villages and kindergartens; produce suicide belts to murder and maim civilians, and bring back child sacrifices called human shields (in biblical times, the ancient Canaanites used to sacrifice their children to the pagan god, Moloch).

The embattled and beleaguered Israelis, on the other hand, produce benefits for all humanity as shown below. What a comparison.

In a recent edition of Good News from Israel blog, the highlights include:

Israeli brain surgeons cured a tremor patient whilst she played her violin.

Israeli doctors transplanted a kidney into a Gaza Arab boy.

An Israeli company has developed the world’s smallest GPS chip.

A rare female baby white rhino was born in an Israeli safari park.

Israeli factories are being converted to natural gas.

Israeli security systems protect European nuclear reactors.

And there’s much, much more:

Israel’s Hil Applied Medical Proton beam destroys tumors to many of the 300,000 US cancer patients and others who can benefit from it.

Israel’s Syneron Medical can now treat onychomycosis (nail fungus) – affecting 10-12% of the population, which is especially dangerous for diabetics.

Israel’s Foamix Acne treatment knocks spots off alternatives with a 72% reduction in pimples and zero side effects.

Israel’s Teva reported that Phase III trial results for its asthma treatment, reslizumab, reduced the frequency of attacks by 50 – 60% compared to placebo

Israeli agro-tech has been a game-changer for the US State of Virginia.

Israel hosts and protects 33 species of bat that are important pollinators and prey on insects, especially mosquitoes.

Israel’s sea turtles are hatching and the Israel Nature and Parks Authority tries to ensure that there are clear paths to the sea for the newly hatched sea turtles.

IsraAid expertise helped clean up after major Washington state wildfire.

Israel’s Ben Gurion University researchers have developed speech analysis that can profile personality.

Israeli technology chosen by Samsung to enhance HD TVs using Giraffic’s AVA software virtually eliminates the need for re-buffering, to provide reliable, high quality, video downloads.

Israeli start-up backups smartphones while re-charging and all saved to a secure memory stick.

This is just a drop in the ocean of wondrous benefits Israel continues to provide to all the peoples of the world.

Despite the relentless attempts by the Arab and Muslim world to destroy the State of Israel, a world that afflicts humanity with violence, misery and a love of death, that same humanity is blessed through the Jewish homeland with peace, happiness and a love of life.

What a comparison, indeed - now tell that to the odious BDS scoundrels.

Mike Rounds Rated ‘Somewhat Conservative’

September 27, 2014   ·   0 Comments

Well, that’s a ringing endorsement if I’ve ever heard one. “Somewhat conservative” is how iVoterGuide.com, linked in at the South Dakota Family Policy Council, rated the establishment-bought GOP candidate Mike Rounds.

2014_US_Senate_SD

As someone I really look up to once said, I’d rather a person be either hot or cold. “Lukewarm” is so milquetoast, so pansy, so wimpy, so feckless. Radical Leftists are destroying the greatest nation on earth, but you can at least respect their dedication and commitment.

Someone who doesn’t seem to know what they want to be…or lacks the guts to be committed to a set of principles? I just don’t have much use for that, and neither do most people who value principle.

The list of contributors to Mike Rounds compiled by iVoterGuide is interesting, too.  A few conservative organizations (the NRA has a policy of backing any incumbent or “favored” candidate, even if there is a better one available), a couple of liberal ones, and a whole bunch of “other” organizations heavy on the health care industry (no wonder Mike Rounds doesn’t really fight government health care schemes, despite what his empty rhetoric says).

If you believe the same poison that has been killing this great nation is more of what we need, then vote for Democrat Rick Weiland.

If you think a milder dose of the same poison that has been killing this great nation is more of what we need, then vote for RINOs Mike Rounds or Larry Pressler.

But if you think the values upon which this great nation was founded and designed to operate are what we need to return to, then vote for conservative independent Gordon Howie. I will be.

Holder: Try, Convict and Jail Him

September 26, 2014   ·   0 Comments

Proven to be a faithful criminal with his little cronies under the Clinton administration, Attorney General Eric Holder has now been exposed once again by showing the American people how truly corrupt he is. If he is not stonewalling, then he is attempting to cover for some unlawful scandal this criminal administration has committed. Now he is even attempting to run from what he is responsible for by attempting to get out before being held accountable.

Article I, Section 3, United States Constitution:

“Judgment in cases of impeachment shall not extend further than to removal from office, and disqualification to hold and enjoy any office of honor, trust or profit under the United States: but the party convicted shall nevertheless be liable and subject to indictment, trial, judgment and punishment, according to law.”

It is being reported that Eric Holder is “getting out while the getting is good.”

“Holder knows the House is after him to produce his emails in the IRS scandal involving Lois Lerner, and he wants to get out now, in the possibility the Republicans control both the House and Senate after the November elections,” said Rep. Steve Stockman, R-Texas.

There are multiple sources that are reporting that Holder will step down as soon as a successor is confirmed, which means he could stay in office well into next year. One source reported the attorney general is “adamant” about leaving soon so that he doesn’t end up staying in the job during the remainder of President Obama’s second term.

Calling him the “stonewaller in chief of the Obama administration,” Stockman said “the pressure is building on Holder in Congress and Obama knows it.”

“Holder has been keeping the lid on the IRS scandal so far, but I think Congress is going to find out there has been collusion between Holder’s Justice Department and the way the IRS investigations of conservatives have been pursued,” he said.

So here we have Eric Holder, who is appointed to magnify the law against crime, but has instead repeatedly magnified crime against the law.

For example:

  • Wall Street: On Wednesday, March 6, 2013, Eric Holder testified before the Senate Judiciary Committee, implying that Wall Street tycoons are above the law, in essence giving them a license to plunder the American people. Holder’s head of the criminal division did not prosecute a single Wall Street executive for the fraud that destroyed the economy.
  • Defense of Marriage: Eric Holder has directed the DOJ not to enforce the federal Defense of Marriage Act. In doing so, Holder has violated his oath of office and clearly shows his violation of the laws of Nature and Nature’s God.
  • Fast and Furious: As we all know, Eric Holder is guilty of putting thousands of assault rifles into the hands of Mexican drug lords in an attempt to blame the American people for the crimes administration officials are guilty of contriving and committing. As a result, Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry was killed, along with hundreds of Mexican civilians, including teens at a birthday party and a Mexican beauty queen.
  • Black Panther Voter Scandal: Soon after being sworn in as Obama’s attorney general, Holder ordered the voter intimidation case against the Black Panthers during the 2008 presidential election to be dropped.
  • Boricua Popular Army Clemency: The Canada Free Press reported that against the express wishes of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the federal prosecutor and the victims of the Boricua Popular Army, at Holder’s recommendation, Bill Clinton granted clemency to the 16 convicted terrorist group members.

Article II, Section 4, of the U.S. Constitution states the grounds for impeachment:

“… all civil officers of the United States shall be removed from office on impeachment for, and conviction of, treason, bribery, or other high crimes and misdemeanors.”

Since 1797, the House of Representatives has impeached 16 federal officials.

It is time to bind criminals such as Eric Holder down with the chains of the Constitution and throw him in jail where he belongs. America is a government of the People, by the People, and for the People. Therefore, it is our responsibility to hold our public servants to their oaths of office under the Constitution of the United States and the laws of our republic.

If we fail to do so, our government will become “a source of terror to all its citizens” and create “a country where everyone lives in fear.”

Custer State Park Buffalo Roundup

My family and I went down to Custer State Park for the annual Buffalo Roundup today.

As you can see from the pictures, there were a lot of people there, and the line of traffic was long for getting into the area.  Though the event went quickly, it was a unique and worthwhile experience to see a herd of buffalo rounded up right in front of you.

Republican Key to Victory: Run as Republcians

September 26, 2014   ·   0 Comments

pq_20140926aPolitical pollsters have a tough job.  They have to create formulas to determine if the person who they are interviewing is likely or unlikely to vote, and it is within this calculation that their reputations are made.

Typically, those who are likely to vote in an off-year election are pretty set.  They are the people who always vote in elections, and a few others who are motivated by specific issues.  In a wave election, the numbers of those motivated by specific issues escalates changing the electoral landscape as the candidates who are beneficiaries of this increased participation sweep to victory.

The 2014 election is rapidly looking like something new and different.  Democrats are reportedly demoralized by the failed Obama Administration and general fatigue.  Republicans, on the other hand, in an orgy of expectation that the primary elections believed the key to taking the Senate was getting the “electable” candidates nominated.

And get them nominated they did.

The establishment got their candidates.  Now, they are staring in the face of a potentially disastrous election where their chosen ones dramatically underperform all reasonable expectations, the result of their attacks on their own political party’s base to cement primary victories.

One state party chairman has privately bemoaned that social conservatives in his state openly question why they should bother voting at all.  Given the national party’s desire to kick them out of the big tent to make room for a hoped for influx of pot smoking hipsters, who can blame them?

Across the nation, tea party conservatives question the wisdom of being tied to a Republican Party that wants them to just shut up and vote for whomever the establishment decides, and it is this indecision on whether to vote at all, that is at the heart of the GOP’s polling woes.

pq_20140926bConservative voters who have traditionally been amongst the most likely people to vote out of a sense of civic responsibility are disgusted.  They are tired of being attacked by the so-called conservative party, and really tired of being treated like second class citizens by the donor and consultant class that controls the official party.

The good news for the establishment is that conservatives want to forgive them for their attacks.  They desperately want to vote Harry Reid out of the Senate Majority Leader’s office.  They still believe that voting Republican is their best chance to limit the size and scope of government, and to get the runaway federal branch under control.  They want to rein in the lawless executive branch and restore constitutional government.

They want to believe that the Republican Party is still the conservative political party and is not just a different gang of thieves looking to plunder America’s pocket books.

Conservatives still believe that America is the greatest country in the world, and that our system of government along with the free enterprise system provides the pathway to future prosperity. Conservatives believe that freedom is worth fighting for, even though, they hate having to do it.

Conservatives believe in the rule of law, and that those who come to our country illegally should not be rewarded for their crimes, being put ahead of those who are waiting in line and following the rules.

The Republican Party has the answer to turn these conservative voters who are currently wondering whether it is worth turning out to vote this election for candidates who have proven to despise them.

All they have to do is read and repeat to conservative voters their own political party platform, and pledge to govern by it.  If the Republican establishment candidates actually ran as Republicans, the number of likely voters would swell, and the promise of a sweeping victory in November would be realized.

The next few weeks will tell the tale of whether the national Republican Party truly wants to win a transformative election that is impossible for the left to overturn in the vastly different political environment of 2016, or if they are content with at best a one or two seat majority in the Senate and a pick-up of six to ten seats in the House.  A result that is highly likely to be erased in two years.

If Republicans run as Republicans in the final weeks of this election, they still can turn this into a rout.  But then, they might have to govern as conservatives, and perhaps they fear that even more than being backbenchers.

Should be an interesting five weeks and change.

Bigfoot, the Loch Ness Monster and Socialism

September 26, 2014   ·   0 Comments

Loch_Ness_MonsterWhat do Bigfoot, the Loch Ness Monster and socialism all have in common?

The people who believe in them aren’t into science and reality, but rather are avid pursuers of fantasy.

Leftists like to call conservatives “anti-science”, usually because we don’t buy into their fantasies about things like

It’s hard to get more unscientific than believing in socialism. After all, everywhere it’s been tried, it produces mediocrity at best, and the more it’s applied, them more suffering and oppression it brings. Just look at the (former) Soviet Union, North Korea, Cuba and other socialist utopias.

Believing socialism helps or is good for people is like believing in Bigfoot or the Loch Ness Monster: neat fantasy…that simply isn’t supported by the massive body of evidence.

So who’s anti-science?  It’s clear that the Left is anti-science…and anti-history…and…

How the GOP Can Get the Hispanic Vote

September 25, 2014   ·   4 Comments

voteMike Gonzalez has a great article from the Heritage Foundation’s Daily Signal in which he discusses 10 ways in which conservatives can appeal to Hispanics (without becoming more liberal).

One of the great things about his strategy is that it appeals to many traditional Hispanic predispositions in the first place.

  1. School choice
  2. Family formation
  3. Get them to become savers
  4. Show them how liberal policies have put them in a hole
  5. Give them a proper stake in the culture
  6. Sever the perceptive link between success and government intervention; end affirmative action
  7. End bilingual education
  8. Ask them if they want to replicate conditions that made them abandon their homeland
  9. Return to assimilationist policies
  10. Explain to them that it’s not a question of being dependent or not, but of depending on someone in your family, in your community or circle of friends, or on a government bureaucrat

Number 4 goes along with a great book I just finished, about which you’ll hear me talk more in the future. It’s called “Take No Prisoners: The Battle Plan for Defeating the Left” by David Horowitz. And if I could, I would put a copy of it  in the hands of EVERY Republican in the world-especially the hand-wringing feckless ditzes who are running the GOP.  It points out so many of the things I’ve been saying for years…only Horowitz says it so much more eloquently, and with the resolute conviction of a former Leftist. Briefly, Horowitz says that rather than pander with liberal-lite policies (as the GOP leadership is currently doing), the Right could win the support of the country by turning the tables on the Left and pointing out how all the things the Left is peddling as good things…are actually BAD things that are very bad for them, and for America. In other words, Republicans would have to wake up, pull their heads out and realize that politics is WAR.  But more on that another time.

Number 8 is a truth I’ve been pointing out for years. Many if not most South American immigrants (legal and illegal) left their homelands for America because their homelands were lawless cesspools of despotism. Now, many immigrants have fallen in with the “lawlessness and despotism” faction in the United States (otherwise known as the Democrat Party).

The Lawlessness and Despotism Faction will create the same poverty, favoritism and despotism that made South America a cesspool…so what’s the point? Hispanics in America should logically join everyone else in respect and support for the rule of law-which means (a) you immigrate to the United States LEGALLY…or not at all, and (b) we abide by the U.S. Constitution (which means no favoritism, and no unconstitutional handout programs).

Political parties by the nature of the beast have to appeal to voters. But they don’t have to abandon their principles in the process.

The GOP has the right values (on paper).  They just need to stop being cowards and learn to sell those values to the American people; right now, they’ve decided the best course of action is to peddle the same poison the Democrat Party is peddling-only in “moderation.”

But using Gonzalez’ strategy and David Horowitz’ methodology, the GOP could finally break the cycle of relative deadlock and actually (a) boost its electoral prospects and (b) get America back on its traditional footing of greatness again.

That is, if the GOP leadership has the ability to pull its head out of its posterior, change its disastrous course, stop being craven panderers, and actually demonstrate some leadership (tall order, I know).
