If you were, say, a Marxist zealot who had been taught to loathe the United States and the U.S. military, and you got a chance from the inside to decimate that military force, how might you do it?

Consider the multi-billion dollar industry of Madison Avenue. It is devoted to manipulating people to desire things they probably cannot afford, so that they buy things they do not need to impress people they don’t even care about. How do we oppose this lure of covetousness in our own heart, how do we oppose the politics of covetousness in our culture?

Some of the most ruthless rulers of former generations were secularists and ardent atheists. Going all the way back to the days of the cruel and merciless Roman Emperor Nero, the brutal and the godless throughout the ages have had their day – reigns mired in blood and oppression. As of midnight, 19 states have forced businesses to pay more for labor, regardless of whether that labor is actually worth more to the employer.

I know, you Leftists and “useful idiots” in the Republican Party don’t like to hear talk about “communists.” It’s scary to be exposed in the light of day for you Leftists, and embarrassing for you useful idiots (don’t want your sophisticated liberal friends to think poorly of you, after all), but communism was real for over a century (and was responsible for somewhere in the neighborhood of 100 million deaths worldwide), and remains real today. And it’s hard at work trying to bring down the American republic.

In order for “social justice” to grow, freedom must die to “fertilize” it. “Social justice” (which is nothing but a government-enforced liberal agenda of forced “equality”) is anathema to liberty, and the two cannot coexist in the same environment.

Foreign, dictatorial governments are bossing around private entities, using either the threat of force or other forms of sanction to suppress what would otherwise be simply the free expression of political speech in today’s digital era. This is why the Obama administration’s plan to turn over Internet governance to a private non-profit, the Internet Corporation of Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN), in 2015 is an exceedingly bad idea.

It only took a couple of days for the ink to dry on Congress’ decision to fund the Obama administration’s objectives for the rest of the year before it came back to bite them. The choice to fund all of the government for the next nine months, besides the Department of Homeland Security, means that Congress has little recourse to rein in Obama’s Cuban bailout.
