South Dakota Homeschool Scholarship Eligibility

HB 1128 is coming up for a vote in the South Dakota House Education Committee soon, and it could be a significant boon to homeschooling families. Currently, the South Dakota Opportunity Scholarship is essentially closed off to homeschool students even if homeschool students score well on the ACT and excel academically. Homeschool parents already pay taxes to support the public education system, and then dig deeper into their own pockets to educate their children. Should they, at a minimum, be able to compete for scholarships on a level playing field with public education students?

Democratic leaders are not stressed out by the entitlements crisis facing us. More socialism in America is what they want. They are not bothered that slow growth and high unemployment go hand in hand with this socialism. Republicans won’t succeed as an opposition party if they keep tiptoeing around the fact that facing America today is a crisis of vision and values.
