Government Power Grabs: Going Off the Deep End

Government Power Grabs: Going Off the Deep End

How does a fishery business survive when it is burdened with such sweeping and overbearing federal regulations from the NMFS, a part of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA)? It doesn’t. But then again, maybe this is the goal of the Obama administration — to put all privately owned, independent fisheries out of business. Why else has the president been so bent on creating new restrictions for fisheries nationwide?

Mailer: ‘Republican’ Candidate Friendly to Abortion

Mailer: ‘Republican’ Candidate Friendly to Abortion

Another mailer has come out highlighting South Dakota Dist. 35 “Republican” House candidate Jack Siebold’s liberal positions. This one comes from the Family Matters PAC and examines Siebold’s lack of support for defending innocent human life. The South Dakota GOP platform and the national Republican platform both affirm the value of innocent human life and the need to protect it. Mr. Siebold, like too many RINOs that we already have giving our party a bad name in South Dakota, obviously does not cherish the values of the South Dakota Republican Party, and as such, would not make a good representative in Pierre.

Study: Annual Deficit 3 Times Worse Than Reported

Study: Annual Deficit 3 Times Worse Than Reported

Even as Democrats and “Republicans” balked and squawked about cutting a paltry $1 trillion over 10 years in their worthless “debt deal,” you knew we had an annual deficit of more than $1.5 TRILLION, right? Which means the deficit racked up in one year wouldn’t even be cut over the course of 10 years…leaving the $15 trillion we’re already in debt plus the new $15 trillion in debt we’d accrue over those 10 years un-dealt with. Well, as bad as that is, we now learn that the annual deficit is about 3 times worse than we have been led to believe.

Letting Liberals Off the Hook

Letting Liberals Off the Hook

Conservatives have been programmed to cushion any criticism of big-government policy with the cloying, irritating disclaimer that liberals and Democrats mean well, but their ideas are just not practical. Why is it always Democrats and liberals who “mean well”? Are statists really motivated by benevolence or by a bloated sense of their own importance? If we must justify the very fundamentals of our existence, then the crowds outside are not hordes of over-protective social workers. The barbarians are clamoring at the gate, determined to get in.

ALERT: Gov. Daugaard endorses anti-gunners!

ALERT: Gov. Daugaard endorses anti-gunners!

Earlier this year, South Dakota Governor Dennis Daugaard declared himself an enemy of the Right to Carry. He even killed a drastically watered down version of a Constitutional Carry bill because it was still TOO PRO-GUN! Now Governor Daugaard is going further and endorsing anti-gun state Senators for re-election! Daugaard just announced that he supports Senators Tom Nelson and Deb Peters, both of whom have extensive anti-gun voting records.

The Heart Has Its Reasons

The Heart Has Its Reasons

After reading many of the comments posted on renewamerica.com to Gina Miller’s article, “Former Transgender Warns of Skirting Marriage Laws by Same-Sex Couples”, I was struck by a fundamental flaw in the homosexual/transgender/etc. position. Whatever their feelings are seems to justify in their own minds everything from condemning the traditional values they transgress, demanding social mores be changed to accommodate them, accusing Christian apologists of being motivated out of fear or hate and even changing the definition of words like marriage, male and female to be altered to fit their agenda.

Connecticut’s Sexual Revolution Tourism Theme

David Pepe, who runs the Ignorant Fishermen website, and who lives in Connecticut, has brought to our attention a new, multi-million-dollar tourism campaign aimed at boosting Connecticut’s tourism income. David has seen through the hype and giddy promotion to the heart of the tourism slogan that Connecticut is “Still Revolutionary.” Unfortunately, the things Connecticut wants to emphasize are “revolutionary” in a very dark and dangerous way.

The Liberator. Volume VII. 1837. Edited by William Lloyd Garrison. Published by Isaac Knapp, Cornhill, Boston, Massachusetts

God-Given Rights Inherent in Every Human Being

William Lloyd Garrison published the Boston anti-slavery paper “Liberator” and founded the American Anti-Slavery Society in 1833. Suffering hundreds of death threats for his politically incorrect stand on the value of human life, William Lloyd Garrison died MAY 24, 1879. In “W.P. and F.J.T. Garrison,” 1885-89, William Lloyd Garrison wrote: “Wherever there is a human being, I see God-given rights inherent in that being, whatever may be the sex or complexion.”
