The video explains the difference in passenger car mileage between European countries and the US. I had heard from friends that travel regularly in Europe that European cars typically get higher mileage than comparable US automobiles, but I had no idea how much or why. I figured it probably had to do with government regulations and air quality demands. It’s much worse than that.

Dist. 35 House Candidate Siebold Soft in Several Areas
The Rapid City Journal reports on an appearance by the South Dakota Dist. 35 House Republican candidates at the Wingnuts luncheon yesterday. Present at yesterday’s luncheon were incumbent Don Kopp, Chip Campbell, and Jack Siebold-all running for Dist. 35 House on the GOP ticket. Here we go again. Speaking to the Peter G. Peterson Foundation 2012 Fiscal Summit on May 15 , House Speaker John Boehner once again called for offsetting spending cuts in return for increasing the $16.394 trillion debt ceiling later this year. This follows the failed attempt in 2011 to do precisely the same thing.

The “mainstream” media is all aghast at a childhood bullying incident of MItt Romney’s, but the real bullies in America exist primarily in government and primarily on the left. Isn’t it wonderful to have elected officials “representing” us and ensuring our elections are fair and not like those in banana republics?

Kansas lawmakers recently did what South Dakota’s “Republican” legislators were too gutless or too liberal to do: protect the citizens of their state from the Shariah law that is creeping across America…and has Europe in a paralyzing grip.

The U.S. House of Representatives took aim at the National Labor Relations Board’s (NLRB) this past week by voting to prohibit the Obama-run labor board from using any funds to sue any state on the question of secret ballot elections. The House action was led by Representative Jeff Duncan (R-SC) in response to the NLRB’s litigation against the states of South Dakota and Arizona, two of four states where voters overwhelmingly approved state constitutional amendments protecting workers rights to secret ballot union elections.

Seward’s Folly is what Alaska was called when it was first purchased from Russia, as it was thought to be of no value. Only when it was discovered to be rich in natural resources was appreciation shown to Secretary of State William Seward, who was born MAY 16, 1801. Serving under Abraham Lincoln, William Seward was wounded by an accomplice of John Wilkes Booth the same night Lincoln was shot.
