For his work in radio, television and publishing, and for his courageous stand for American principles, Emmy Award-winning television anchor and radio host, Shad Olson, has been named recipient of the prestigious, ‘Eagle Award,’ for 2011, given by Phyllis Schlafly’s Eagle Forum to Americans who have exemplified conservative principles of honor, integrity and character in their life and work.

Last week, a citation for unlawful assembly against the pro-life advocacy group Missionaries to the Preborn was dismissed. The Milwaukee-based group conducts pro-life advocacy throughout the Midwest, and encountered trouble at their event in Sioux Falls. Police cited Jason Storms, one of approximately 50 pro-life advocates engaged in outreach and education along a public street in the city. The citation relied on a city ordinance requiring a permit for groups of 10 or more persons engaged in public assembly.

As reported by the Rapid City Journal, a man in Sioux Falls has been sentenced to a year and a day in prison for passing $180 in counterfeit money last year. He will be supervised for three years after he is released from prison. Man, that’s a strong sentence for giving someone several fake $10 and $20 bills. After all, nobody got hurt. Why do we consider counterfeiting the currency of a nation to be immoral, criminal, and a behavior which is not allowed or sanctioned?

South Dakota Secretary of State Jason Gant reminded voters today that Monday, May 21st marks the voter registration deadline for South Dakotans who intend to vote in the June 5th Primary Election.

The celebration clamoring of the radical homosexual Left has reached an ecstatic, fever pitch since last Wednesday when Barack Obama (or whatever his name is) made history with his shameful pronouncement that he believes people of the same sex should be able to get “married.” Never mind that a marriage union between people of the same sex is impossible in every way. Just the fact that he made this wicked declaration should be enough to make even the most strident Obama supporter say, “Huh?”

In 1789, John Adams stated that, “Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other.” These words of caution provide a reflective focus back verses the present while portraying just how far away we have drifted from America’s original design. Without the set limitations erected by our Founding Fathers, the freedom which they sacrificed to obtain becomes a destructive weapon leading to our demise.

Don’t kid yourself. A conspiracy is at hand. We didn’t just happen to get “Hitler” or “Planned Parenthood” or “Death Panels” or “Dying With Dignity movements” under our pillows one night, such as the coins from the Tooth Fairy. All have been carefully planned and the campaign carried out amazingly well.
