Today, Secretary of State Jason Gant announced hisopposition to House Bill 1235, An Act to revise certain provisions relating to the South Dakota state flag, which is scheduled to be heard in House State Affairs committee on Monday, February 6th. Gant stated that he plans to testify in opposition to the new flag.

What We All Deserve
The other day I was talking to Kipp Greggory, our morning talk show host, during whose program this radio blog broadcast airs. We do not see each other very often, but when we do, it’s a fast-paced gab fest! He brought up a point of aggravation to him that amazed me, because it is something that bothers my husband and me, as well, and I have not heard anyone else make the point. It is the profusion of advertising that appeals to the prevalent sense of entitlement that infects many people in our society today.

A new bill introduced to the South Dakota House of Representatives deals with our nation’s energy needs and state’s rights. HCR 1005 is titled: Urging Congress to clearly delegate responsibility for the regulation of hydraulic fracturing to the states. Several of the bills American Clarion is watching have activity scheduled for the next few days, including pregnancy centers, Second Amendment rights, Shariah law, health care and ObamaCare. FEBRUARY 2, 1848, the Mexican-American War ended with the Treaty of Guadalupe-Hidalgo being signed at the main altar of the old Basilica of Our Lady of Guadalupe in Villa Hidalgo in present day Mexico City. In exchange for $15 million dollars, the same amount paid for the Louisiana Purchase, the territories of California, Nevada, Utah, and parts of Arizona, Texas, Kansas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, Colorado and Wyoming, were brought into the Union.
