Racing Down the Slippery Slope

The specter of the “slippery slope” is widely considered to be a logical cop-out – an intellectually lazy response employed by the rigid and fearful among us (usually conservatives and the religious, of course). Like all enduring metaphors, however, the concept embodied by the slippery slope is quite often proved true. “Give ’em an inch, they’ll take a mile” is a compelling slogan for good reason. Once an initial barrier is broken, it is difficult to turn back.

Gingrich Slams Obama, Media Bias Double Standard

I can’t support Newt Gingrich for president with a wishy-washy record like his, but he deserves credit where credit is due. He is very good at keeping the focus where it belongs (on President Obama, and on the media lapdogs who support him) and defending even his fellow Republican competitors in the face of the real and greater threat. He did so during the debate last night by exposing media hypocrisy over Rick Santorum’s contraception opinions, and Barack Obama’s support of infanticide. Read more ›
