A Progressive Deterioration Leading to Ultimate National Disaster

The Korean War started JUNE 25, 1950. Communist North Korea invaded South Korea, killing thousands. General Douglas MacArthur was given command of the U.N. Forces and after a daring landing of troops at Inchon, MacArthur recaptured the city of Seoul. General Douglas MacArthur led the United Nations Command in the Korean War from 1950 to 1951. Political involvement prolonged the war, resulting in high casualties.
