South Dakota Legislature: Unity…or Complicity?

South Dakota Legislature: Unity…or Complicity?

The Sioux Falls Argus Leader featured an article today which was both very interesting and not a surprise at the same time. The article was entitled “Analysis: In a land of political divide and vitriol, S.D. Legislature is a surprising oasis of unity.” I wonder how many people it has occurred to that, when you have such a deep ideological divide between Democrats and Republicans as we have today, unity is the LAST thing you want–at least, if you care about what is right.

A Democrat who says she's Taxed Enough Already (TEA)

A Suggested Tea Party Strategy

An old saying advises people “not to put all your eggs in one basket”. I suggest that Tea Party supporters should “not put all your votes in one basket”. By this I mean that the Tea Party should work to influence and overtake the leadership in both major parties. Don’t laugh or scoff. The establishment Republicans don’t like the Tea Party supporters. So, why not work to influence and take control of the Democratic Party. There are plenty of “Reagan Democrats” who don’t like the Obama wing of their party.

Will the GOP Be Blamed for Democrat Tax Increases?

Will the GOP Be Blamed for Democrat Tax Increases?

The ultimate leverage in the game of chicken now being played in the upcoming fiscal cliff is who will get blamed politically if everyone’s taxes go up at year’s end. Republican Establishment Addicted to Big Government

Republican Establishment Addicted to Big Government

Would the author of the New Deal be pleased with the state of Social Security 80 years later? Did President Johnson, when approving of the Medicare amendment in 1965, know of the volatility of such a program and the government dependency it would create? While Presidents Franklin D. Roosevelt and Johnson did what they thought best for the nation at the time, they must have known that to inject even a little government spending into peoples’ personal lives would only lead to more spending and a new kind of government dependency.

Shiny Packages & the World of Debbie Wasserman Schultz

Shiny Packages & the World of Debbie Wasserman Schultz

Once upon a time, in a world pre-PC, there was this thing called “respect”. In that world, some people on some occasions did get their feelings hurt by comments or actions of others. It was called rudeness on the part of anyone intentionally inflicting hurt on others and thin skin on the part of people who got hurt over the most minor of things or due to false assumptions of what was behind those words or actions they found so troubling. Then we come to modern times where the DNC chairwoman, Debbie Wasserman Schultz crashes the RNC like a spoiled brat and thinks we ought to be proud of her childish behavior?
