The essence of Government is power; and power, lodged as it must be in human hands, will ever be liable to abuse. — James Madison, speech in the Virginia constitutional convention, December 2, 1829

Santorum Opens Up Double-Digit Lead Over Romney

According to the latest from Rasmussen Reports,

The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey of Likely Republican Primary Voters finds Santorum with 39% support to the former Massachusetts governor’s 27%. Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich follows from a distance with 15% of the vote, and Texas Congressman Ron Paul runs last with 10%. Three percent (3%) like some other candidate in the race, and six percent (6%) are undecided. (To see survey question wording, click here.)

Santorum is also several points ahead of Mitt “RomneyCare” Romney in Michigan. Even in Romney’s home state of Massachusetts, Santorum is ahead of Romney in the favorability ratings.

Maybe people are finally pulling their attention away from American Idol and paying attention to the presidential election. Maybe they’re finally taking a look at Romney’s record and realizing he’s just a liberal with an “R” after his name. Perhaps people are finally starting to pay attention and realize that Romney is a pathetic excuse for a Republican presidential candidate–one that even George Will would be appalled to settle for.

They’ve already been there to some extent, but expect the attacks, smears and sneers from the “mainstream” media to open up full bore now.  They cannot allow a conservative, someone who believes in Republican values, to be nominated by the GOP, much less win the general election.

A liberal-with-an-“R”-after-his-name as the GOP nominee hedges their bets (they still get a liberal president, even if the American people are fed up with anyone with a “D” after their name), as well as pretty much guarantees many Republicans will stay home rather than vote for a pretender who fits in better in the Democrat Party.

Bob, I think it’s funny, in a morbid sort of way, that an ad banner for “Join Mitt on the Road” appears below the article.  I know you can’t control this, but we can still properly lambaste this Marxist-with-a-little-“m” just the same.

Ha ha. Yes, those ads rotate randomly…but I could block certain ads, if I know about them and take the time to block them.  Maybe we can just have fun lambasting the liberal-with-an-“R”-after-his-name. :-)

Turning the Tables on the Left

It seems Leon H. Wolf at RedState is about as enthused at the prospects of a "Republican" victory in November as I am. Republicans: would you like to actually accomplish something next year? Would you like to be able to overcome Barack Obama's propaganda? You can, if you are willing to fight.

How’s Romans 13 Working, Pastor?

Dave Daubenmire

I guess I don't understand all the hubbub. Why are Houston's pastors objecting to turning over their sermons to the government? Haven't they told all of us to “obey the authorities?” Doesn't Romans 13 demand that we obey un-Godly government?

What if Republicans DO Get Control of Congress?

David Pepe

As the 2014 midterm elections heat up... expect the Left and the Main Stream Media to do whatever it takes to secure a leftist socialist progressive Democratic win and keep its lawless, bulldozer "a" rolling. Nothing will be beneath them as they use any lawless means to accomplishing this goal. These will seek to incite and stir up the rage of the masses of socially, subjective, lawless government dependents, godless women and the majority of African Americans who have been oppressed by white liberals policies for decades.

Honoring the One True God

It is now beyond question that Christianity is under direct assault in the culture war. “The city of Houston has issued subpoenas demanding a group of pastors turn over any sermons dealing with homosexuality, gender identity to Annise Parker, the city’s first openly daughter of Sodom mayor. And those ministers who fail to comply could be held in contempt of court.”

"We don't intend to turn the Republican Party over to the traitors in the battle just ended. We will have no more of those candidates who are pledged to the same goals as our opposition and who seek our support. Turning the party over to the so-called moderates wouldn't make any sense at all." - Ronald Reagan, Nov. 10, 1964
