Self defense is justly called the primary law of nature, so it is not, neither can it be in fact, taken away by the laws of society — Sir William Blackstone, “Commentaries on the Laws of England”, Book 3 Chapter 1, 1765

Santorum Opens Up Double-Digit Lead Over Romney

According to the latest from Rasmussen Reports,

The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey of Likely Republican Primary Voters finds Santorum with 39% support to the former Massachusetts governor’s 27%. Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich follows from a distance with 15% of the vote, and Texas Congressman Ron Paul runs last with 10%. Three percent (3%) like some other candidate in the race, and six percent (6%) are undecided. (To see survey question wording, click here.)

Santorum is also several points ahead of Mitt “RomneyCare” Romney in Michigan. Even in Romney’s home state of Massachusetts, Santorum is ahead of Romney in the favorability ratings.

Maybe people are finally pulling their attention away from American Idol and paying attention to the presidential election. Maybe they’re finally taking a look at Romney’s record and realizing he’s just a liberal with an “R” after his name. Perhaps people are finally starting to pay attention and realize that Romney is a pathetic excuse for a Republican presidential candidate–one that even George Will would be appalled to settle for.

They’ve already been there to some extent, but expect the attacks, smears and sneers from the “mainstream” media to open up full bore now.  They cannot allow a conservative, someone who believes in Republican values, to be nominated by the GOP, much less win the general election.

A liberal-with-an-“R”-after-his-name as the GOP nominee hedges their bets (they still get a liberal president, even if the American people are fed up with anyone with a “D” after their name), as well as pretty much guarantees many Republicans will stay home rather than vote for a pretender who fits in better in the Democrat Party.

Bob, I think it’s funny, in a morbid sort of way, that an ad banner for “Join Mitt on the Road” appears below the article.  I know you can’t control this, but we can still properly lambaste this Marxist-with-a-little-“m” just the same.

Ha ha. Yes, those ads rotate randomly…but I could block certain ads, if I know about them and take the time to block them.  Maybe we can just have fun lambasting the liberal-with-an-“R”-after-his-name. :-)

Honoring the One True God

David Whitney

It is now beyond question that Christianity is under direct assault in the culture war. “The city of Houston has issued subpoenas demanding a group of pastors turn over any sermons dealing with homosexuality, gender identity to Annise Parker, the city’s first openly daughter of Sodom mayor. And those ministers who fail to comply could be held in contempt of court.”

Righteous Anger and Carnal Destruction

Dark forces are reigning and winning. But are they? I guess it's all a matter of where we stand. Maybe, we should take a cold, hard look where that is exactly. How firm is our foundation? Does our faith lie in a religious institution?

Christian Coalition Publishes Flawed, Incomplete Voter Guide

Bob Ellis

The Christian Coalition emailed me about their 2014 voter guides today. I can't speak to all of them, but the one for South Dakota is flawed and incomplete...an apparent trend among voter guides and endorsements from conservative groups this year.

The Larceny Is Larger than You Think!

Michael Peroutka

Last week the mayor of Houston enraged many Christians when the city subpoenaed the sermons of some Houston area pastors. This got me to thinking…Suppose you wake up tomorrow morning, walk downstairs and find a thief in your living room rifling through your furniture.

We Need a Leaner, Smarter Justice System

Ken Connor

We need a sensible, pragmatic, and effective sentencing process. As with so many failed policies hanging around America's neck like so many millstones, the current system is a result of politics being put ahead of practical wisdom. It is possible to be tough on crime, to protect the American people from the bad guys while using our limited resources wisely and effectively.

"We don't intend to turn the Republican Party over to the traitors in the battle just ended. We will have no more of those candidates who are pledged to the same goals as our opposition and who seek our support. Turning the party over to the so-called moderates wouldn't make any sense at all." - Ronald Reagan, Nov. 10, 1964
