Conservatism is the antithesis of the kind of ideological fanaticism that has brought so much horror and destruction to the world. The common sense and common decency of ordinary men and women, working out their own lives in their own way—this is the heart of American conservatism today. Conservative wisdom and principles are derived from willingness to learn, not just from what is going on now, but from what has happened before. — Ronald Reagan, 1977 CPAC speech

Santorum Opens Up Double-Digit Lead Over Romney

According to the latest from Rasmussen Reports,

The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey of Likely Republican Primary Voters finds Santorum with 39% support to the former Massachusetts governor’s 27%. Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich follows from a distance with 15% of the vote, and Texas Congressman Ron Paul runs last with 10%. Three percent (3%) like some other candidate in the race, and six percent (6%) are undecided. (To see survey question wording, click here.)

Santorum is also several points ahead of Mitt “RomneyCare” Romney in Michigan. Even in Romney’s home state of Massachusetts, Santorum is ahead of Romney in the favorability ratings.

Maybe people are finally pulling their attention away from American Idol and paying attention to the presidential election. Maybe they’re finally taking a look at Romney’s record and realizing he’s just a liberal with an “R” after his name. Perhaps people are finally starting to pay attention and realize that Romney is a pathetic excuse for a Republican presidential candidate–one that even George Will would be appalled to settle for.

They’ve already been there to some extent, but expect the attacks, smears and sneers from the “mainstream” media to open up full bore now.  They cannot allow a conservative, someone who believes in Republican values, to be nominated by the GOP, much less win the general election.

A liberal-with-an-“R”-after-his-name as the GOP nominee hedges their bets (they still get a liberal president, even if the American people are fed up with anyone with a “D” after their name), as well as pretty much guarantees many Republicans will stay home rather than vote for a pretender who fits in better in the Democrat Party.

Bob, I think it’s funny, in a morbid sort of way, that an ad banner for “Join Mitt on the Road” appears below the article.  I know you can’t control this, but we can still properly lambaste this Marxist-with-a-little-“m” just the same.

Ha ha. Yes, those ads rotate randomly…but I could block certain ads, if I know about them and take the time to block them.  Maybe we can just have fun lambasting the liberal-with-an-“R”-after-his-name. :-)

What if you woke up this morning, opened up the newspaper or turned on the TV to your local news channel and saw this: “The Obama administration has been found criminal and corrupt. Confusing Divergence With Adherence

How can you defend Christianity when there are so many bad things from within Christendom? What about all the wars in which Christians have fought? What about all the TV preachers who have abused the trust of people who listen to them? What about all the evil and harmful things done by people who call themselves Christians?

The courts have been packed, the banks have been bought off, and the unions use legally mandated dues to support candidates and policies their unwilling members don’t want. Check and check-mate. The situation has become so dire and the hour so late that it appears the only line of defense we have left between the USA and the USSA is a House of Representatives controlled by Progressive Republicans and the hope of a Senate controlled by the same crowd. The old bulls talk conservative to get elected, then join hands across the aisles in a marriage of despotism with deceit.

Population statistics reveal that Muslims make up less than 1% of the American population. Government statistics recently showed that the homosexual population makes up 1.6 % of the American population. Let those numbers sink in. Why do both groups make Christians cower and run for cover?

Not the Pastor America Needs, but the Pastor We Deserve

From the outside, Joel Osteen lives a life the world covets. There’s just one problem with that. I can’t think of a single truly great figure in the 2,000-year history of Christianity who didn’t pay some kind of worldly price for defending the faith—beginning with Christ himself at the Cross. On the other hand, it seems as if the world is paying Osteen quite handsomely for the self-esteem gospel according to Joel.

"We don't intend to turn the Republican Party over to the traitors in the battle just ended. We will have no more of those candidates who are pledged to the same goals as our opposition and who seek our support. Turning the party over to the so-called moderates wouldn't make any sense at all." - Ronald Reagan, Nov. 10, 1964
