The Original Wall of Separation

The Original Wall of Separation

Guilty of preaching religious liberty in England, separatist leader Roger Williams fled from Anglican England to Boston on FEBRUARY 5, 1631. Williams was befriended by Narragansett Indians and founded Providence Plantation, Rhode Island-the first place where church government was not controlled by the state government.

The Strength to Stand Against Tyranny

The Strength to Stand Against Tyranny

Dietrich Bonhoeffer, instead of seeking his own safety, in resistance to Hitler…preached publicly against Nazism, racism, and anti-Semitism…Bonhoeffer was finally arrested and imprisoned. Even former President Jimmy Carter said that God’s Holy Spirit “gave Bonhoeffer the strength to stand up against Nazi tyranny”…and that same Spirit is available to us today.

Memo to Romney: Whole nation is on government plantation

Memo to Romney: Whole nation is on government plantation

Mitt Romney has been taking a drubbing about his remarks in a CNN interview that he is “not worried about the very poor … we have a safety net there … If it needs a repair, I will fix it.” And then going on to say it is “middle-income Americans … that are really struggling” that are his concern. Getting off Uncle Sam’s Plantation is no longer a problem limited to our poor. The Tea Party Can’t Save America

The Tea Party Can’t Save America

As we come near to the end of the “Great Experiment”, the Tea Party was founded and started to awaken American to our sobering fiscal realities and sought to holdWashington accountable for their actions. What We All Deserve

What We All Deserve

The other day I was talking to Kipp Greggory, our morning talk show host, during whose program this radio blog broadcast airs.  We do not see each other very often, but when we do, it’s a fast-paced gab fest!  He brought up a point of aggravation to him that amazed me, because it is something that bothers my husband and me, as well, and I have not heard anyone else make the point.  It is the profusion of advertising that appeals to the prevalent sense of entitlement that infects many people in our society today.

Power Play for Our Oceans and Lakes

Power Play for Our Oceans and Lakes

President Obama’s Executive Order “Stewardship of the Ocean, Our Coasts, and the Great Lakes,” which he put into order on July 19, 2010,  is nothing more than an absurd power grab by the Obama administration.  To control the country’s lakes, oceans and coastlands by issuing strict usage regulations and restrictions will only hurt such livelihoods as farming, fishing and logging.
