Religion should therefore be considered as the first of their [Americans] political institutions. From the start, politics and religion have agreed and have not since ceased to do so. — Alexis de Tocqueville, Democracy in America, 1835

Political Musings for the Week Ending Apr. 21, 2012

Patriotism - “Patriotism is supporting your country all the time, and your government when it deserves it.” Mark Twain.

Politics– If Romney is criticized for his religion, he should demand a comparison between his Mormon pastor’s sermons vs. Obama’spastor, Reverend Jeremiah Wright’s sermons.

Politics– Now that Republicans have settled on a single candidate, they must learn to play Chicago hard ball politics by attacking Democrats on the record forcing them to defend.

Politics– Voter Question: “How did that vote for Obama work out for you? Are you better off today than when Barack Obama was elected? Is he making the economy better or worse?

Politics– Voter Caution: Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me! Once a mistake; Twice a fool!

Politics– Michelle Obama “never worked a day in her life”since her succession of “jobs” werepolitical patronage positions which were actually disguised payoffs to her husband.

Politics– Congressman Allen West has revealed the Democrat Party Congressional Progressive Caucus as a cabal of “card-carryingMarxists and International Socialists.”

Media– Newspapers continue to hemorrhage readers with only political ads in the 2012 election to save them, but I expect many newspapers will disappear after the next election.

Politics– I expect that the 2012 Presidential election will be the most racist campaign, with baseless accusations used to distract voter attention from Obama’s record of failure.

Politics– If the Republican Party nominates Mitt Romney as their Presidential candidate, I expect that the TEA Party members bail out of the Party in droves to become Independents.

Patriotism - “There is nothing wrong with America that cannot be cured with what is right in America.” William J. Clinton.

Budget– President Obama continues to criticize Paul Ryan’s budget as thinly veiled Social Darwinism” while offering no plan of his own other than his rush to European Socialism.

Banking– TARP introduced “Too Big To Fail” but then the five banks that held assets equal to 43% of the US economy in 2007 before the financial crisis, now control 56% of the assets.

Pay Equity – The average man is taller than the average woman, but no action is required; the average man earns more than the average woman, but equal jobs pay equal income.

Taxes– If Obama truly believed the rich should pay more, then he can lead by example and voluntarily pay an additional $100,000 more taxes so his rate will be the same as his secretary.

Taxes– “Millionaires” who avoid paying taxes by using legitimate deductions are not the problem but the symptom of a complex tax code used to enforce social engineering.

Energy– Obama’s energy strategy is to force current energy prices higher so solar and wind energy after-subsidy, after-mandate, and after-loan-guarantee prices appear “affordable.”

Energy– Obama is pretending not to know that the biggest potential manipulator of the oil market is the federal government restricting supply, restricting refining, and raising prices.

Environment– Success has been achieved in water pollution and air pollution, but 43% now believe that there is not enough “solid evidence” to support “man-made” global warming.

Environment– Since the origin of the global warming hoax in the late 1980s, Americans have seen $50 billion of their tax dollars thrown down the climate change rat hole.

Healthcare– A Washington Post/ABC News poll pegs support for ObamaCare at 39%, the lowest level since this poll first began tracking, with 50% of Democrats want the entire law.

Water– Not satisfied with land grabs, the Obama Administration is using Executive Orders to try to put inland waterways and ultimately the oceans under federal government control.

Debt– I expect that the country’s credit rating will again be downgraded after Congress debt ceiling discussions again fail to find sufficient spending cuts to halt deficit spending.

Deficit – I expect one or more states to declare bankruptcy by 2012 and seek assistance to recover from the bad economic decisions of the past under federal judicial protection.

Housing – I expect that it will take four or more years at the current rate for the backlog of foreclosures to finally clear, before we see any signs of life of a robust housing recovery.

Patriotism – “Each nation feels superior to other nations. That breeds patriotism – and wars.” Dale Carnegie.

Foreign Policy – Obama has few accomplishments in foreign affairs,so his Foreign Policy is to run out the clock and avoid any decisions, conflicts or entanglements until after the election.

Foreign Policy – Had they not been elected president, neither Bill Clinton nor Barack Obama would have been able to obtain the most basic secret clearance, based on their life history.

Afghanistan– Under Obama’s policies, Afghanistan has become a protracted military quagmire, the longest war in U.S. history,nation-building is failing, and retreat is imminent.

Argentina– Refusing to learn from its own history, Argentina is reverting back to government dictatorship and industry nationalization to cure its collapsed economy and debt default.

Sweden– As the European Union deteriorates, Sweden has become a role model for economic reform, embracing smaller government and lower taxes for economic growth.

Africa– I expect that Obama will create a “crisis”so he can inject American troops into an African country to demonstrate his “military leadership” in this Presidential election year.

Israel– I expect that Israel will be attacked by Hamas again in 2012 and the IDF will retaliate by invading and then annexing Gaza based on the concept of defensible borders.

Israel – I expect that Israel will suffer a nuclear attack from Islamist extremists by 2012, and Obama will stand aside and not help defend this longtime ally.

Asia – I expect that North Korea will attack South Korea and attempt to reunite Korea by the 2012, and Obama will be an unwitting accomplice as he abandons this ally in a time of war.

British ‘Girl Scouts’ Jettison Commitment to God

Bob Ellis

The Boy Scouts of America recently decided they have greater loyalty to homosexual activists than to the God they pledge duty to and decided to allow homosexual boys to join the organization. Not to be left behind in the West's headlong plunge into immorality and insanity, the British equivalent of the Girl Scouts, Girl Guides, has decided to embrace narcissism over God.

Senate Rejects Amdt to Strengthen Border Security

Newswire

Senator John Thune (R-S.D.), Chairman of the Senate Republican Conference, issued a statement today following the Senate’s rejection of his border security amendment (S. Amdt. 1197) to the immigration reform bill (S. 744). Thune’s amendment would have required construction of approximately 350 miles of reinforced, double-layer fencing, which was required by the immigration bill passed in 1996, as a trigger prior to Registered Provisional Immigrant (RPI) status being granted.

You ‘Say’ It But How Do We ‘Really’ Know?

Carrie K. Hutchens

Hillary Clinton, Susan Rice, Jay Carney and President Obama all lied to us about Benghazi.   Holder has lied to Congress and has been held in contempt.  Lies have been told about many things, including the gathering of reporters' phone calls and the IRS targeting.  Yet, people in the government and their agencies are surprised that we are doubtful as to the truthfulness of their words?

Obama’s Stealth Strategy Against the Second Amendment

Woodrow Wilcox

Soon after President Obama and his allies lost key votes in the U.S. Senate on their push for more federal gun control laws, they started pushing for immigration reform. Part of the purpose of the immigration reform drive is a stealth strategy against the Second Amendment and its supporters. Obama hopes that adding millions of new voters from among the illegal aliens who get citizenship will overwhelm American voters and politicians who support the Second Amendment.

Fixing a Broken Election System

Rick Manning

James Ware, a candidate for Controller in the state of California in 1978, was frustrated by the mail in voter registration system and decided to publicize the potential for abuse. Ware proceeded to register his cat to vote, and let the media in on the secret. State authorities proceeded to threaten Ware with prosecution due to his abuse of the system, but his point was made, anyone or anything could be registered to vote, and with mail in voting, there was no way for the government to prevent voter fraud.

"We don't intend to turn the Republican Party over to the traitors in the battle just ended. We will have no more of those candidates who are pledged to the same goals as our opposition and who seek our support. Turning the party over to the so-called moderates wouldn't make any sense at all." - Ronald Reagan, Nov. 10, 1964
