The moment the idea is admitted into society that property is not as sacred as the laws of God, and that there is not a force of law and public justice to protect it, anarchy and tyranny commence. If `Thou shalt not covet’ and `Thou shalt not steal’ were not commandments of Heaven, they must be made inviolable precepts in every society before it can be civilized or made free. — John Adams, A Defense of the American Constitutions 1787

EPA Smacked: The Good Guys Win One

Michael and Chantell Sackett

Michael and Chantell Sackett

Great news! In this day and age when the anti-American Leftists win too many battles over their fellow American’s freedom, the good guys finally won one yesterday in the U.S. Supreme Court.

I’ve told you before about Chantell and Michael Sackett who bought some land and were beginning to build their dreamhouse…when the EPA came in and shut them down, claiming their quite dry land was a “wetlands” and therefore “protected” (read: confiscated by the federal government). The EPA wouldn’t even give them legal recourse to fight the ruling, so they took off in a different legal protection several years ago, and have finally received a measure of justice (after years of harassment by government tyranny).

This is one of the most clear illustrations you will ever see on why the EPA is a tyrannical organization that should be completely abolished.

Remember the Declaration of Independence? The center of that document is the part few people think of, yet it is equally important to all the rest, as it outlines the reasons why the American colonists felt compelled to go up against the most powerful government on earth.

…He has called together legislative bodies at places unusual, uncomfortable, and distant from the depository of their public records, for the sole purpose of fatiguing them into compliance with his measures…

…He has erected a multitude of new offices, and sent hither swarms of officers to harass our people, and eat out their substance…

Sadly, in our complacency and ignorance, we have come to allow our own American government to come to treat us more shabbily than even King George did.

With regard to environmentalism run amok like this, God gave this planet to humanity for our benefit, with instructions to be good stewards of it. We were never meant to be subservient to it or of secondary importance to it. This is the kind of oppression and insanity you get when you depart from a Christian worldview.

We can no longer afford to sit back and indulge the Marxists in our population and in our government. We the people must rise up and DEMAND a return to constitutional government–demand it with our phone calls and letters, demand it with demonstrations, and demand it with hard-fought campaigns to support constitution-respecting candidates at all levels of government.

Thank the Lord for a bit of good news!  I’m really glad to hear this!

Thank you Bob, for following up on this story.  I guess now the Sacketts are free, not to start building their house, but to start the legal proceedings of fighting the EPA in court to get the permits to build, right?

I haven’t researched “what’s next” as closely as I would have liked to yet. My understanding is that this court battle only dealt with the fact that the EPA was harassing them without any legal recourse to contest that holdup and the accompanying threat of huge fines. From what I understand, it is still theoretically possible that the *^@#!s at the EPA could come back and try to hammer them with a full injunction of some type that allows them legal recourse….and the whole mess could potentially start over again.  I’d like to think, “No, surely the EPA has learned their lesson over this” or “No, surely even they are human enough to realize the Sackett’s have been through enough already”…but then I remember that we’re talking about Leftists here, and things like compassion and fairness are alien concepts to them. We can hope and pray, though.

Republican Senator Doesn’t Trust Republicans

Looks like I'm not alone in my distrust of "Republicans" to do the right thing. An elected Republican in the U.S. Senate says he doesn't trust "Republicans" any more than he trusts Democrats to do the right thing.

As delegates for the Boy Scouts of America convene this week in Texas to weigh a BSA board initiative for gay scouts, conservatives began airing two TV spots dealing with the Scouts, homosexuality and House Speaker John Boehner. "It's all the same phenomenon. Seemingly responsible adults and so-called leaders from Texas to Ohio to Washington keep caving to President Obama's bullying," said NoMoreWimpouts.com spokesman Craig Bergman.

Conservatives Demand Compensation for IRS Interference

A group of leading conservatives has today released a letter to the House and Senate Republican leadership, and their Republican Conferences, demanding that legislation be passed to make whole those that were targeted for political discrimination by the Obama administration's IRS. "There is ample precedent for awarding them monetary damages for the discrimination they suffered at the hands of government employees."

"We don't intend to turn the Republican Party over to the traitors in the battle just ended.
