[I]t is Religion and Morality alone, which can establish the Principles upon which Freedom can securely stand….The only foundation of a free Constitution, is pure Virtue, and if this cannot be inspired into our People, in a great Measure, than they have it now, They may change their Rulers, and the forms of Government, but they will not obtain a lasting Liberty. — John Adams, letter to Zabdiel Adams, 21 June 1776

ALERT: Pro-Homosexual Bill Hearing in South Dakota Senate Monday

February 5, 2012   ·   By   ·   7 Comments

Homosexual flag

“Senate Bill 119 – revise the Human Relations Act to allow certain discriminatory practices to be investigated by municipalities and counties” was rescheduled to be heard Monday, Feb 6th, by the Senate Health and Human Services Committee to vote whether it will go out on the Senate Floor for a vote.  This is a bad bill.  References are below.

ACTION - Contact the Committee members, especially if they are from your district, AND your Senator and urge them to vote NO on SB 119.  Contact information is below.  Faxes and email work 24/7!

American Clarion Jan. 24, 2012 by Bob Ellis:

“Obviously this is another bill designed to advance the homosexual agenda, seeking to provide special protections for homosexuals.

If homosexuals insist on engaging in this dangerous and immoral practice in the privacy of their own homes, no one is trying to stop them. But forcing society to accept and accommodate their behavior is just plain wrong.  What we practice in the privacy of our own residence is one thing, but forcing another person to acknowledge, legitimize, cater to, enable, accommodate, further or promote a dangerous and immoral practice is itself immoral and unconscionable.”

Read Bob Ellis’ excellent story
“South Dakota Bill Highlight: SB 119″ for talking points.  The bill is included.  Notice all of the underlined (added) sections:

sexual orientation, gender identity
Sexual orientation,” means homosexuality, heterosexuality, or bisexuality;
“Gender identity,” the gender-related identity, appearance, mannerisms, or other gender-related characteristics of an individual, with or without regard to the individual’s designated sex at birth;

Senate Health and Human Services Committee members are:

Name Chair/Vice
Bradford, Jim (D)
Holien, Ried (R)
Hunhoff, Jean (R)
Chair
Kraus, Elizabeth (R)
Vice Chair
Krebs, Shantel (R)
Rampelberg, Bruce (R)
Schlekeway, Todd (R)

One would think with all committee members but one being Republicans that this would be a “shoe in”.  Please don’t back off!

HOW DARE THERE BE A BILL PROTECTING THE RIGHTS OF SOUTH DAKOTANS WHO AREN’T LIKE YOU. NAY I SAY NAY. THERE SHOULD BE CAMPS FOR THESE PEOPLE.(<That there is sarcasm.)  Homophobia will get you nowhere in the eyes of the Lord, friend.

    • http://www.americanclarion.com/ Bob Ellis

I’m not sure what all your babbling at the end is supposed to mean, but I don’t think we need “camps” for homosexuals. We don’t need special rights and protections for a behavior that is immoral, unnatural, and extremely dangerous, either.

      • http://twitter.com/Lando81 Landon VanBuskirk

“immoral” according to you. And your beliefs. Not everyone follows those beliefs.

        • http://www.americanclarion.com/ Bob Ellis

According to my beliefs…and the doctrine of every major religion in the world–including Christianity, which more than 80% of Americans ascribe to.

Not everyone believes it is immoral to steal from others, but guess what: the immoral designation of theft applies to them whether they believe it or not, as do the consequences.

You should consider coming in from the cold and embrace what’s right. As a former rebel I can tell you: life works a lot better when you try to live right.

Imagined “rights” to impose your warped, unhealthy, unnatural, immoral world view on others are the antithesis of rights.  Intelligent people know the difference.

      • http://www.americanclarion.com/ Bob Ellis

Good point, Spouse. This isn’t about protecting homosexuals so much as it is demanding obeisance to politically correctness and homosexual behavior.

        • Anonymous

Right, Bob.  Whenever a homosexual activist spouts the “rights” meme, I know that this implies that many good people will be forced to go against their established belief system to accept homosexuality to some degree.

Insufferable Are The Black Robes

Jim Bowman

This “broken” immigration system is by design. We can pass all the legislation one desires but if laws are not enforced, they are “broken.” And the design I reference has now become obvious with the “supreme” court’s latest unconstitutional decree which, if nothing else, supports this broken chorus! In a 7-2 anti Arizona immigration decision, these ill behaved black robes have once again turned their back on our law of the land as they assign more legitimacy to foreigners than to our Constitution.

Earth to Gov. Kasich: God is Not a Socialist

Bob Ellis

Don't you just love it when liberals (selectively) thump the Bible to browbeat good people into going along with things the Bible clearly doesn't say or condone? Ohio Governor John Kasich is now trying to scam people into believing God is a socialist and He wants Kasich to take your property and give it to other people. Last time I checked, neither the Bible nor the U.S. Constitution gave authority for that.

GOP Support for Amnesty Bill Drying Up

Bob Ellis

GOP support for the amnesty bill is drying up like a wad of spit on the sand along the southern border of the United States. Interestingly, Senator Marco Rubio (R-FL), who was backed by the Tea Party when he was elected, has not only pushed this turd of an amnesty bill with the worst of them (like Demagogue Senator Chuck Schumer), but voted against securing the border today.

Rush Limbaugh Interview of Senator Ted Cruz

Bob Ellis

In case you missed it, Rush Limbaugh interviewed Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) on his radio show earlier today. There are RINOs, there are Republicans who disappoint and flirt with becoming RINOs...and then there are real Republicans. There is every indication that Ted Cruz is the real deal, and is a reliable Republican. He tells the truth, tells it like it is, and ticks off the "mainstream" media and other liberals something fierce.

The Demagogue Party

Bob Ellis

Do you know what a "demagogue" is? Webster's dictionary defines demagogue as "a leader who makes use of popular prejudices and false claims and promises in order to gain power." Does that describe any politicians you know? Does that describe a particular political party that you've heard of?

"We don't intend to turn the Republican Party over to the traitors in the battle just ended. We will have no more of those candidates who are pledged to the same goals as our opposition and who seek our support.
