THE BAD

First, the bad (because this is about as good as it gets this week).  Surprise, surprise. Donald Trump and the rest of the RINOs in congress are determined to screw the American people with their Obamacare “repeal” and “replacement.

From Conservative HQ:

Recent changes made to the #Ryancare bill to persuade conservative House Republicans to vote for it do not address one of its most critical flaws – allowing illegal aliens to obtain health care through identity fraud.

Our friend Daniel Horowitz explained in an article for Conservative Review that the draft #Ryancare bill eliminated even perfunctory protections against illegal alien enrollment.

“Although Obamacare didn’t require photo ID and fingerprints to verify identity, it did harness the Department of Homeland Security’s Systematic Alien Verification for Entitlements (SAVE) database. Thus, officials were at least able to check immigration status against Social Security numbers,” Horowitz wrote.

“The problem with this bill is that because it tweaks Obamacare and creates a new massive entitlement system through the budget reconciliation process, it cannot have the statutory effect of mandating HHS and IRS work with Citizenship and Immigration Services to use the SAVE database because that issue is outside the jurisdiction of the reporting committees,” Horowitz observed.

So, the Department of Health and Human Services and IRS will not even be able to check enrollees’ Social Security numbers to ensure that the buyer is a citizen, not an illegal alien concluded Horowitz.

During the Obamacare enrollment periods, Obamacare navigators signed up thousands of illegal aliens, observed Breitbart’s Katie McHugh.

Estimates vary, but there are well over ten million illegal aliens present in the U.S., feeding an enormous appetite for fraudulent documents—including counterfeit Social Security cards using numbers that were either stolen from an American or will be assigned to a newborn in the future.

The massive healthcare giveaway would incentivize greater illegal immigration in an era of suppressed wages, joblessness, and a raging opioid addiction epidemic. As more cheap labor surges over the border, so do drugs. The Republican leadership’s healthcare bill would only fuel this disastrous cycle, concluded McHugh.

What’s more, President Trump remains set on forcing conservatives to vote for RINOCare. Weren’t conservatives the ones who considered things like ObamaCare repeal so important that they put electing a liberal Bill Clinton crony (who told us how much he loves the socialist health care schemes of other countries) ahead of their own principles?  Nice payback for pushing your principles to the back burner, eh, guys?

THE UGLY

It’s quickly becoming apparent that we’re getting another John Roberts (or even worse) Supreme Court nominee in Neil Gorsuch. During his confirmation hearings this week, Gorsuch told us we can’t count on him to overturn the 1973 Supreme Court opinion which we allowed to “legalize” child murder in the United States.  Gorsuch says the “right” to kill your own child in the womb is “the law of the land” (even though the U.S. Constitution grants no such “right” to individuals, and no power to authorize such an act).

What? Once tyranny and contempt for the U.S. Constitution is enshrined by the U.S. Supreme Court, it can never be undone?

Well, there was that Civil War thing back in the 1800s. Is that what it takes to undo unconstitutional contempt for what’s right? The death of over half a million Americans? The death toll from abortion since 1973 is in the neighborhood of 50 million, so perhaps the half-million dead in the Civil War to undo another of the Democrats’ brilliant ideas is chump change.

As Steve Deace pointed out, “If Abraham Lincoln had asked Neil Gorsuch to overturn Dred Scott, would he have ‘gotten up and walked out of the room?'”

Any doubts Gorsuch holds protecting innocent human life in contempt? Consider that, according to The Hill, he told ultra-Leftist California Senator Dianne Feinstein…

who worried that Gorsuch would vote to restrict abortion, that “no one is looking to return us to horse and buggy days.”

Claims that standing for decency and morality are somehow backwards, primitive superstition are textbook Leftist language…and the supposed replacement for Antonin Scalia is spewing Leftist BS???

Didn’t Donald Trump tell us during the campaign that he wanted to see the Supreme Court overturn Roe v. Wade, and that “that’s what will happen, and that’ll happen automatically in my opinion because I am putting pro-life justices on the court.” So Roe will be overturned because Trump will be appointing “pro-life justices” like Gorsuch? Uh huh.

Oh, and Gorsuch also told us this week he believes the U.S. Constitution provides a “right” to counterfeit marriage.  Guess that abomination is enshrined in faux law now, too.

Hey Christians: are you glad you gave your vote (and your credibility with it) for a moral reprobate like Donald Trump in order to save the Supreme Court?

Roe and Obergefell are probably the two biggest assaults on the U.S. Constitution, limited government, state’s rights, and the moral fabric of our very nation in the past 50 years, if not longer.

And Mr. Big Hands’ replacement for Scalia won’t do anything to undo these affronts to American values and principles???

Oh, and to add a little icing to this cake of grave apprehension, Gorsuch referred to ruling for “undocumented immigrants” (what regular, law-abiding Americans refer to as “illegal aliens”) in his opening statement.

No, a good judge can’t know with complete certainty how he should rule on a given case until presented with all the facts of that case. However, a good judge (something that is obviously exceedingly rare, these days) knows right from wrong, understands that there are transcendent moral standards embedded in the Natural Law upon which this nation is based, and recognizes that he is subservient to the limits of the U.S. Constitution and the rule of law.

In other words, a good judge knows you don’t cast aside what is right in favor of political expediency, and you don’t continue to excuse evil simply because someone in the past excused that evil.

Oh, but Gorsuch HAD to say stuff like that to get his nomination past the Democrats (who are in the minority, and don’t have the White House), you might say. So you want a Supreme Court judicial nominee who lies under oath to congress, then? Okay…

Consider this: a vote to affirm Gorsuch for U.S. Supreme court is to put this guy on the U.S. Supreme Court (with virtually zero public accountability) for the next 30 years or more. A guy who calls illegal aliens “undocumented immigrants,” who thinks protecting innocent human life would be returning to “horse and buggy,” and that counterfeit marriage is “the law of the land.”

At this point, we’re about 4% into the four years of the Trump Administration. With 96% remaining, THIS is the start we’re off to: Trump has told us he will take no action against counterfeit marriage and the firebombing of the rule of law; Trump has told us he will do nothing about young illegal aliens (known as “DREAMERS”); Trump is strong-arming conservatives into supporting RINOCare; Trump’s excuse for a replacement for Antonin Scalia has told us we can expect the “legalized” slaughter of unborn children, as well as the mockery of marriage, to continue unabated.

To those of you who surrendered the conservative principles you claimed to believe in, because you believed (despite all the decades of evidence of Donald Trump’s liberalism) Trump would appoint justices who would fix the Supreme Court…if you’re peeing your pants in fear right now that your vote was wasted (and you should be), you were warned.

At this point, I’d urge Republicans to vote “NO” on the Gorsuch nomination, and demand that Trump send them a nominee who will uphold the U.S. Constitution as well as the Natural Law upon which it is based (Mike Lee, Ted Cruz, or Roy Moore would all be good candidates). We can do better than this. Way, WAY better.

THE GOOD

I didn’t think there was going to be any good news this past week–at least not enough to make an impression on me big enough to overcome the bad news. But at the last minute came this story from the Washington Times and others that Americans for Prosperity (backed by the Koch brothers) are putting millions on the table to help conservatives who vote against RINOCare.

Americans for Prosperity, which boasts 35 chapters across the nation and an army of grassroots activists, say the current legislation is too tepid for the level of policy reform needed.

“We want to make certain that lawmakers understand the policy consequences of voting for a law that keeps Obamacare intact,” Americans for Prosperity president Tim Phillips said, CNN reported Thursday. “We have a history of following up and holding politicians accountable, but we will also be there to support and thank the champions who stand strong and keep their promise.”

It’s about time we saw some muscle backing people who refuse to bow the knee to the Left and the Left’s RINO enablers.  That’s definitely some good news!

Initially, I believed that Gorsuch was a good choice. Unfortunately, after listening to his testimony this week, which was lauded as “smooth” and “flawless”, I believe that while he won’t be a leftist like Soto-Mayor, he will probably be a progressive like Roberts. Not only will we NOT repeal Roe, deviant marriage is probably safe and now I’m wondering about our individual right to keep and bear arms. How “flexible” is he?

I concur. When he was announced, what I could find indicated great potential…but there was a lot that was unknown.

Now that more of that is coming out, while I agree that he probably won’t be as bad as Sotomayor, he may not be even as “good” as John Roberts–and Roberts completely sold out the U.S. Constitution and the American people TWICE.

The really Ugly: Last weekend, my sister was at the Rushmore Plaza in
the convention center room for a pool tournament (her team got 2nd in
their division!) BUT she could not even CONSIDER inviting my son and
family who live out there to come and see her. The TRASHY, profanity
laden MUSIC played through the rooms system was so bad that she was
embarrassed even without them there. This is some kind of sound system
that plays whatever music anyone buys to play on their phone.
