Sider’s Frankenstein: Unlimited Government

Sider’s Frankenstein: Unlimited Government

You can be sure that increased power will be abused and that the politicians will use it as a vehicle for buying and controlling another constituency in order to perpetuate their personal power. While we should all strive for a just society, let us not fall victim to the deluded notion that government is the best instrument for achieving that goal.

Barack Obama: The Law Giver

Barack Obama: The Law Giver

All this time I have been laboring under the false impression that the Congress was constitutionally assigned the duty of making and changing (amending) law(s) for the country. Silly me! I am SO embarrassed! Just shows how dumb a poor ole swamp rat like yours truly can actually be, I suppose.

Senator Ted Cruz: Person of the Year 2013

No politician had a greater impact on the past year than freshman U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas). Cruz made his biggest mark when he and fellow freshman Sen. Mike Lee (R-Utah) led a last-ditch national grassroots effort to defund ObamaCare before the law went into effect fully. With ObamaCare, We’re All Criminals Now

How do state governments get into the mess they are in today with one-party supermajority rule in both chambers of the General Assembly? How is it that three or four liberal urban counties can rule the rest of a state with an iron fist? How is it that there does not seem to be any way to stop them from hurting us?

Political Wars: The Establishment Strikes Back

Political Wars: The Establishment Strikes Back

If 2013 was any indication, 2014 and subsequent years will see the continuation of institutional retaliation against not only the tea party, but of a wider anti-establishment sentiment prevalent on both the political right and left.

When The Cat’s Away, The Mice Will Play

Step back. Take a look at the world today. It’s an unmitigated MESS! THis is what “leading from behind” has wrought. This is President Obama’s foreign policy: no foreign policy.

How Democrats and Republicans Wasted Your Money in 2013

How Democrats and Republicans Wasted Your Money in 2013

Liberals in both parties claim there is simply nothing left to cut from our oh-so-lean $3.45 TRILLION federal budget. Since “Republicans” are going along with effectively doing away with even the miniscule sequester cuts and spending even more of your money next year, it isn’t just Democrats who are wasting your money, but also the “Republicans” you elected to hold the line on spending and the growth of government.
