The Breathtaking Dissent of Justice Scalia

The Breathtaking Dissent of Justice Scalia

In case you missed it, Rush Limbaugh provided a quick summary of some of the highlights of Justice Scalia’s scathing dissent to the idiocy the U.S. Supreme Court majority tried to pass off as “justice” today with regard to the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA).

All Hail the Government God

All Hail the Government God

Great column today from Ben Shapiro at TownHall.com. As he examines today’s schizophrenic and self-destructive U.S. Supreme Court decisions concerning marriage, Shapiro sees this attitude from the Left as simply one symptom of the mindset which sets up the state as god–and replaces God.

Pretended Legislation Through Assault

Pretended Legislation Through Assault

This morning, the Supreme Court once again usurped their authority by committing an abomination when unlawfully wading outside of their jurisdiction and meddling with the God-ordained definition of marriage. A 5-4 ruling has overturned key parts of DOMA (Defense of Marriage Act). The Supreme Court also dismissed an appeal made by 7 million people of California who twice voted to ban homosexual marriage in their state (Prop 8), claiming their appeal “has no standing.”

Marriage Remains Intact in South Dakota

Marriage Remains Intact in South Dakota

South Dakota Attorney General Marty Jackley announced today that South Dakota’s definition of marriage, which is limited to a man and a woman, is still valid. “After today’s U.S Supreme Court decisions, South Dakota constitution and legislative enactments defining marriage to be between a man and a woman remain in effect as a matter of law,” said Jackley.

Supreme Court War on Marriage

Supreme Court War on Marriage

The Supreme Court has struck down the Defense of Marriage Act, pretending two homosexuals in a semi-committed sexual relationship somehow equates to the unique union of a man and a woman in the commitment of marriage. After Chief Justice John Roberts’ treachery with ObamaCare last year, this sellout really didn’t come as a surprise. So what scraps of decency are we left with?

The Consequences of the Incoherent SCOTUS Marriage Decisions

The Consequences of the Incoherent SCOTUS Marriage Decisions

This is absurd. The Defense of Marriage Act imposes no uniform definition of marriage upon the individual states. However, the states should not be able to impose varying definitions of marriage upon the federal government.

ADF: SCOTUS Ruling Leaves Proposition 8 Intact

The U.S. Supreme Court Wednesday declined to review the validity of Proposition 8, California’s constitutional amendment protecting marriage as the union of one man and one woman. According to the Alliance Defending Freedom, without an appellate court decision declaring the amendment unconstitutional, Proposition 8 remains the law of the land in California.

True Definition of Marriage Remains Unchanged

True Definition of Marriage Remains Unchanged

Human Life International President Father Shenan J. Boquet on today’s U.S. Supreme Court decision affecting marriage: “Since marriage is an institution that predates any government, the nature and definition of marriage were never in doubt, and thus could not justly be changed by any court or vote.”

God Hasn’t Changed His Mind on the Death Penalty

God Hasn’t Changed His Mind on the Death Penalty

Pastor and South Dakota Representative Steve Hickey recently posted an article on his blog stating he had changed his mind on the death penalty, and plans to introduce a bill in the next legislative session to repeal the death penalty in South Dakota. Pastor Hickey may have changed his mind, but God hasn’t, and the facts on the death penalty haven’t changed either. They both point to the death penalty as a vital tool in maintaining a safe society and respect for human life.

How Utterly Dumb Has the US Become?

How Utterly Dumb Has the US Become?

I don’t know how dumb the United States government officials have become, but I do know that we — as a country — now appear to be the laughing stock of the world. Too bad someone didn’t have the humility to consider that a possibility. Had they — maybe we could have saved-face!
