Progressives Embrace Moral and Medical Schizophrenia

Progressives Embrace Moral and Medical Schizophrenia

The Progressive agenda to make America healthier may well result in a leaner, greener America.  Unfortunately, their contempt for the unborn and their embrace of “anything goes” promiscuity will render those benefits moot.  A society guided by moral schizophrenics cannot long endure.

Senator Thune: Washington Does Not Tax Too Little, It Spends Too Much

U.S. Senator John Thune (R-S.D.), Chairman of the Senate Republican Conference, today issued the following statement regarding the president’s call for new taxes to avert the across-the-board spending cuts known as sequestration.

Pro-Marijuana Bill Goes Up in Smoke

Though our “Republican” supermajority legislature has already killed several textbook Republican bills in the 2013 legislative session, we must give credit where credit is due. Today, the House Health & Human Services Committee today killed HB 1227 which sought to allow breaking the law as a defense for breaking the law, i.e. allowing “medical necessity” as a defense for breaking the law and using marijuana.

Education Tax Credit Would Benefit All, Including Public Schools

Education Tax Credit Would Benefit All, Including Public Schools

South Dakota HB 1173 would extend a property tax credit to parents for education expenses the owner has incurred in educating their child. But the mayor and council stood firm for freedom and our heritage last night.

Common Sense Hijacked for Obama Propaganda

Common Sense Hijacked for Obama Propaganda

Common sense is both a noun and an adjective. As a noun, common sense—good judgment—is becoming a rare and precious commodity in our world today, especially from Washington politicians; thus, it describes little of what comes out of our nation’s capital. Yet, I have noticed that whoever it is that puts the words in the mouth of Barack Obama (or whatever his name is), has latched on to “common-sense” as an adjective to describe what can only be regarded as tyrannical, unconstitutional dictates.

Majoring in Minors: Turning Our Schools into Totalitarian Enclaves

Majoring in Minors: Turning Our Schools into Totalitarian Enclaves

Just as the 9/11 terrorist attacks created a watershed between the freedoms we enjoyed and our awareness of America’s vulnerability to attack, so the spate of school shootings over the past 10-plus years from Columbine to Newtown has drastically altered the way young people are perceived and treated. School officials, attempting to both protect and control young people, have adopted draconian zero tolerance policies, stringent security measures and cutting-edge technologies that have all but transformed the schools into quasi-prisons.
