Liberal Anti-Gun Crime Propaganda Exposed

Britian_Most_ViolentCincinnati Fox 19 is doing the fact work that the national “mainstream” media is (as usual) AWOL on.

Fox 19’s Ben Swann looked up some of the numbers British socialist Piers Morgan has been spewing on American TV. They didn’t hold up to reality.

The US is #1 in gun ownership, but only #28 in gun homicides, well behind progressive bastions like Honduras, El Salvador and Jamaica.

Remember when I told you recently about what I discovered about violence when I lived in England? It turns out that Piers Morgan’s socialist utopia of Britain is the second highest for overall crime rate in the European Union, the fifth highest robbery rate, fourth highest burglary rate, and is rated as the most violent country in the EU.

Britain has 2034 violent crimes per 100K people, with the gun-totin’ US trailing far behind the enlightened totalitarians in Britain with only 466 violent crimes per 100K.

No wonder I heard so many news stories about stabbings, slashings and stranglings in this “peaceful” country basking in near-total gun control.

There’s a fix for the violence plaguing America (and Britain), and signer of the Declaration of Independence Benjamin Rush articulated it some 200 years ago. Unfortunately, it is completely unacceptable to the licentious, Godless Left:

I lament that we waste so much time and money in punishing crimes and take so little pains to prevent them. We profess to be republicans, and yet we neglect the only means of establishing and perpetuating our republican forms of government; that is, the universal education of our youth in the principles of Christianity by means of the Bible; for this divine book, above all others, favors that equality among mankind, that respect for just laws, and all those sober and frugal virtues which constitute the soul of republicanism.

Excellent piece, and more pertinent to the issue than all the emotional hand-wringing and anti-American claptrap the media is so intent on covering. The stat about the violent crimes in the UK is dead on-target: when the weak, or aged, or young, etc., have no means of defending themselves from the hulking young thugs…and they KNOW it…then of course there will be more violence. What do the thugs have to be afraid of?

    Great essay, Bob!

  • Home invasions are many times more common in GB than the US, and much more likely to to involve violence to the occupants. Defending yourself and your property is a crime–you are expected to flee from your home and call the police. Tony Martin, a British farmer defended himself with a shotgun, killing one of the two burglars. He was tried and convicted of murder (later reduced to manslaughter on appeal) and served three years in prison. He now lives in a secret location because the dead man’s family has a bounty on him and he has no means to defend himself and, of course, the police won’t provide him security.

There are many stories like Mr. Martin’s. A few are discussed here:

In the first ten years following GB’s gun ban the incidence of gun crimes doubled.

We must defend our rights whatever it takes.
