Leftward Leadership in the Republican Party

The Life and Liberty Group’s website Less Gov recently posted a video of an interview I did with LibertyToday.TV recently on the topic of the liberal leadership from the “Republican” Party in the state House of Representatives.

Gordon Howie and I discussed how disappointing it has been to see a Republican super-majority in the South Dakota Legislature…yet several textbook-Republican issues have been blocked by “Republican” leadership. At a time when we would expect to see the conservative agenda making great progress, it has been largely stymied by RINOs who seem to be more interested in dividing the spoils than in making our state more strong and secure.

We won’t get rid of all the RINOs in the upcoming primary less than a month away here in South Dakota, but we have some great opportunities to put several of them out to pasture.  People need to check out the latest candidate evaluations at the SD Liberty Caucus so they can separate the elephants from the RINOs and move closer to getting some real Republican leadership next year.

As our nation is in distress and it seems like an uphill climb to get good leadership at the national level, it is all the more important that South Dakotans be able to rely on their state leaders to erect a bulwark against the decay and mismanagement that is destroying our country. We don’t have to go down with the rest of the country–and with South Dakota leaders committed to the traditional principles that made us a great state and great nation, we won’t.

    Excellent interview!

  2. WXRGina says:

Bob, I know you don’t like people to “praise” you, but you always do such a smooth, great job in these interviews. You’re a star blessing to our cause!

I feel bad for your fake conservative South Dakota government.

    • Bob Ellis says:

Thanks, Gina. Any glory is to God.

P.S. We hope to clean out some of the RINOs in a few weeks when our primary comes.

What are the chances that you’ll get some good cleaning done? Any good candidates challenging the fakers?

        • Bob Ellis says:

I think we have a pretty good chance. Not all the RINOs are being challenged, but quite a few of them are.

In my district, one of them is going to get off without a fight for a state senate seat being vacated (he’s moving over from the state house), but there is one good incumbent and one good new guy, plus a RINO, running for the two house seats my district has, and word is getting out about the RINO. One of our conservative groups has already done a scorecard exposing his liberal or dubious positions, and South Dakota Gun Owners just sent out a mailer over the weekend exposing his weak position on Second Amendment issues.

The RINOs made it clear this year that they were declaring war on the conservative base of the party, so by golly, they got what they asked for.
