American Clarion Week in Review, Ending May 5, 2012

These are the top articles at American Clarion for the past week. If you missed one the first time around, this is your chance to get caught up on the most important events and insights before the new week rushes in.

Buy Guns, Not Health Insurance(Publius Huldah) – Harvard Law School was embarrassed recently when one of its graduates, the putative President of the United States, demonstrated that he was unaware that the supreme Court has constitutional authority to declare an act of Congress unconstitutional. I have already proved that Art. I, Sec. 8, next to last clause is what authorizes Congress to assess the fee from ship owners who use the federal dock-yards. Now I will show you where the Constitution grants authority to Congress to require adult citizens to get armed!

IRS Allows Illegal Alien Fraud (Dr. Theo) – WTHR Channel 13 in Indianapolis has uncovered a disgraceful fraud that should be national news every evening until the problem is rectified. All workers, citizens, legal immigrants and illegal aliens are required to report earnings to the IRS. Without a Social Security Number illegals are issued an ITIN, an individual taxpayer identification number. With that illegals can then claim an “Additional Child Tax Credit” of up to $1000 dollars per claimed child. And that child can be a niece or nephew and live in Mexico!

‘Dear Abby’ Gets it Dead Wrong on the Bible and Homosexuality (Gina Miller) – This past Monday, I read the advice columns that used to be written by identical twin sisters, Pauline Phillips and Esther “Eppie” Lederer, known to us by their pen names as Abigail VanBuren—“Dear Abby”—and Ann Landers. A mother wrote a letter explaining that her son had revealed to her and her husband that he is a homosexual. She said they love their son, as do their other sons and daughters, but are having trouble understanding what the Bible says about homosexuality. Unfortunately, the mother got nothing but bad advice from the columnist.

More Liberal Property Destruction, Disrespect for Law and Order (Bob Ellis) – KTVU TV in San Francisco reports a band of thugs went out Monday night (gearing up for Marxist May Day?) and vandalized a police station and several nearby businesses and vehicles. One SUV had the window knocked out and a flare tossed inside. These marauders weren’t clearly identified as Occupy Wall Street protesters, but consider that this is the OWS modus operandi. Property destruction and contempt for law and order is what the OWS movement does best. Dollars to dimes, there’s no doubt: this was the OWS crowd.

Visiting Wind Cave National Park (Bob Ellis) – My family and I visited Wind Cave National Park for the first time today. It’s one of the many, many things to see and do around the Black Hills of South Dakota. The cave is the fifth longest in the world, coming in at over 130 miles of it mapped, and has some geological formations that are found in almost no other cave in the world. The pictures I took give you some idea of how incredible the cave is, but I’m not kidding when I say that they do not do justice to what you will see with the naked eye.

Soros Group: Calling People ‘Illegal’ is ‘Hate Crime’ (Gina Miller) – I came across a promotional video for a campaign to abolish the word “illegal” when referring to people who are in our country illegally. Yes, that is correct. These leftists who are pushing for the dismantling of United States national sovereignty and promoting open borders are seeking to hijack the very language we use to describe criminal aliens. Of course, that is nothing new.

Occupy Wall Street Thugs Plan Bridge Bombing (Bob Ellis) – It looks like the Marxists with the Occupy Wall Street movement are moving up a notch and graduating to full-blown terrorism. Drug use, defacating on police cars, insulting police and destroying public/private property wasn’t enough for these America-haters. As CNN and other outlets are reporting, a group of Occupy Cleveland goons conspired to blow up a 4-lane bridge south of Cleveland, Ohio.

Don’t Ask: Don’t Tell! (Carrie K. Hutchens) – Personally, I can’t understand why the “don’t ask: don’t tell” rule doesn’t apply in everyday life. Actually, I’m thinking more on the lines of, “I’m not asking, so don’t be telling me that stuff. Don’t be forcing me to “know” what I don’t want to know about you and your personal life, thank you very much!”

Muslim Extremists, Police Shut Down Event Promoting U.S. Constitution (Newswire) – In the middle of an event to extol the virtues of the U.S. Constitution and “American Laws For American Courts,” the audience learned first-hand how easy it is to lose their freedom of Speech and Assembly. Amid shouts of “What about free speech?” from the audience, the Allegan Police Department ordered the event shut-down.

The Rapid City flood: There were thousands of stories to be told (Gordon Garnos) – It was a Friday night, June 9, 1972. The Rapid City Flood was the fifth worst flood in American history. Two hundred and thirty-eight people lost their lives. Another 3,000 were injured. Many were saved. And the lives of everyone involved were changed for ever. Thousands of stories came out of that flood. Here’s mine.

Thank you to the readers and the writers for making these the best of the bunch!
