There are periods in the history of man, when corruption and depravity have so long debased the human character, that man sinks under the weight of the oppressor’s hand and becomes his servile-his abject slave; he licks the hand that smites him; he bows in passive obedience to the mandates of the despot, and in this state of servility he receives his fetters of perpetual bondage. — Patrick Henry

Sweet Cakes Takes a Stand for Marriage

February 26, 2013   ·   By   ·   6 Comments

Sweet_CakesThis is what principle looks like. This is what standing for what’s right looks like.

We see so few people who will stand for principle and what’s right anymore that it is important that we all know about it when some do.  We should let it encourage and strengthen us to do the same, to not follow the herd and take the easy way.

When homosexual activists and their “useful idiots” tried to intimidate Sweet Cakes, a bakery in Oregon, into making a faux wedding cake for a counterfeit marriage of two homosexuals, the community stepped up and made an extra effort to give that business their business. So many people came in one day that the store was completely sold out of their goods.

Just as the legal currency of a nation has only one definition, so other important things have only one definition. To form a marriage, you need a man and a woman who are of consenting age and are not closely related to one another. If you don’t have a man or a woman to bring to the mix, you can’t have a marriage. You can’t make a bathroom with all male or all female parts, you can’t build an engine with all nuts or all bolts, and you can’t make a marriage without a man and a woman.

The folks at Sweet Cakes aren’t trying to be mean. They’re just standing for what’s right and refusing to participate in a fraud, the counterfeiting of our society’s most important institution: marriage.

Same-sex “marriage” isn’t even a legal reality in Oregon, by constitutional amendment, so it seems to me that Sweet Cakes owners are affirming Oregon law.

In many places, one may refuse service to “anyone” for “any” reason. I guess there is now an exemption to that rule. Can’t refuse certain people and can’t be opposited to certain behaviors.

It’s easily proven that this baker isn’t refusing to serve these PEOPLE, only refusing to sell a product. There would be no problem if these lesbians came in for a birthday or graduation cake; he’d serve them readily.

      • Carrie_K_Hutchens

True. The owners should have a right to refuse to sell a product.

If forced by the unlawful authorities I can think of a number of ways to make a cake that would assure that the LGBT bunch doesn’t darken their doors again, but it is righteous that they have taken a stand on the Christian beliefs.

Earth to Gov. Kasich: God is Not a Socialist

Bob Ellis

Don't you just love it when liberals (selectively) thump the Bible to browbeat good people into going along with things the Bible clearly doesn't say or condone? Ohio Governor John Kasich is now trying to scam people into believing God is a socialist and He wants Kasich to take your property and give it to other people. Last time I checked, neither the Bible nor the U.S. Constitution gave authority for that.

GOP Support for Amnesty Bill Drying Up

Bob Ellis

GOP support for the amnesty bill is drying up like a wad of spit on the sand along the southern border of the United States. Interestingly, Senator Marco Rubio (R-FL), who was backed by the Tea Party when he was elected, has not only pushed this turd of an amnesty bill with the worst of them (like Demagogue Senator Chuck Schumer), but voted against securing the border today.

Rush Limbaugh Interview of Senator Ted Cruz

Bob Ellis

In case you missed it, Rush Limbaugh interviewed Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) on his radio show earlier today. There are RINOs, there are Republicans who disappoint and flirt with becoming RINOs...and then there are real Republicans. There is every indication that Ted Cruz is the real deal, and is a reliable Republican. He tells the truth, tells it like it is, and ticks off the "mainstream" media and other liberals something fierce.

The Demagogue Party

Bob Ellis

Do you know what a "demagogue" is? Webster's dictionary defines demagogue as "a leader who makes use of popular prejudices and false claims and promises in order to gain power." Does that describe any politicians you know? Does that describe a particular political party that you've heard of?

"We don't intend to turn the Republican Party over to the traitors in the battle just ended. We will have no more of those candidates who are pledged to the same goals as our opposition and who seek our support. Turning the party over to the so-called moderates wouldn't make any sense at all." - Ronald Reagan, Nov. 10, 1964
